What to do with Kenyan Drake, David Johnson, Chase Edmonds in fantasy football Week 14

Who, if anyone, from the Arizona Cardinals backfield is worth starting in fantasy against the Steelers in Week 14?

The Cardinals running back carousel continues to turn, blurring our decision making concerning who to start in fantasy. Thankfully, despite all three Cardinals running backs being healthy, there does appear to be more clarity this week than previous weeks.

Last week, Chase Edmonds wasn’t listed on the injury report and returned to play, but saw no snaps while David Johnson received 23 percent of the snaps to Kenyan Drake’s 80 percent. Drake had 15 touches to Johnson’s six. Many of Johnson’s touches came with the game clearly out of hand as well. We can’t be 100 percent certain, but it sure appears that Drake is the lead back for now.

Fantasy football analysis: Arizona Cardinals RBs, Kenyan Drake, David Johnson, Chase Edmonds

Drake should be the lead back but he will have a tough matchup against the Steelers, who have allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to running backs and a low 3.6 yards per rush attempt. We won’t be banking on Drake to rush for big numbers this week, but he does have 18 receptions in his four games with Arizona and the Steelers have allowed Kareem Hunt and Giovani Bernard to catch 14 passes and a touchdown over the last three games.

I would expect Drake to see plenty of work as a receiver this week instead of running him into the Steelers defensive front. His upside will be limited, but as the starter in a game he should be used as a receiver, his PPR projection should give him some flex appeal.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Sit Johnson and Edmonds.
