Jared Cook will not return in Week 14 vs. 49ers due to concussion

The Saints tight end is on fire, but won’t get back into the game Sunday.

UPDATE #3: Cook has been ruled out due to a concussion and will not return.

UPDATE: Jared Cook is headed to the locker room with the independent neurologist and is being evaluated for a concussion.

New Orleans Saints tight end Jared Cook is off to a huge start with two touchdowns, but he took a brutal illegal hit on the second touchdown and is in the team’s medical tent, per multiple reports.

Cook has two receptions on the day, one for 38 yards and a score, one for 26 yards and a score. On the latter, cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon hit Cook in the head as the tight end was coming down with the catch. The ball looked like it jostled, but the referees upheld it as a touchdown. Josh Hill is Cook’s backup at tight end.
