Drew Brees has strong first half against 49ers in Week 14

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints trail by one at halftime in a shootout vs. the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14

Drew Brees heads into halftime with an impressive performance, which saw him complete 15 of 18 passes for 179 yards and three touchdowns. Brees will start the second half with 25.3 fantasy points, in what looks to be an opportunity for his strongest performance of the season. Brees has had ups and downs this season, highlighted by a thumb injury which saw him miss five games. In the games in which he has been healthy, Brees has provided fairly consistent, though underwhelming, fantasy production at an average of 15.9 fantasy points per game.

Coming off of a poor outing in Week 13, which saw him put up only 11.3 fantasy points on 18 for 30 passing for 184 yards and one touchdown, Brees is off to a fantastic start in a true shootout between two 10-2 NFC teams. With neither team showing any signs of slowing down, look for the Saints to continue looking to Brees in the pass game to keep up with an electric San Francisco 49ers offense in the second half.
