The New York Giants face the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football to close out Week 14, and Eli Manning makes his return. Rookie quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a high ankle sprain last week, and Manning will start in his place, marking the veteran’s first start since he was benched after Week 2.
This is not likely to be his last start of the season. Jones is expected to miss two to four weeks, according to NFL Network media. With four games remaining including tonight’s MNF matchup, that suggests Manning will get a home game next week against Miami, and could still be in line to start the home finale against Philadelphia.
Fantasy football analysis: Giants QB Eli Manning
If you were ever going to start Eli Manning in fantasy football, it would be next week against a bad Miami Dolphins defense. He’s worth starting in two QB leagues this week, but not much else. You could do worse if you are stuck in a desperate situation, but you probably would not do much worse.
If he does manage a reasonable outing tonight, he becomes at least a little more interesting in a home game against Miami next week where there could be plenty of emotion.
