Kawhi Leonard ruled out for load management Monday vs. Pacers [UPDATE]

Clippers forward will rest for tonight’s game on the second of a back-to-back.

UPDATE: Patrick Patterson will start in place of Leonard tonight.

Patterson is $3,400 on DraftKings and I’d maybe consider him as a decent GPP value play, but there are better options and Patterson doesn’t offer much upside. The only way he’d reach value is if the Clippers or Pacers made the game lopsided (which I don’t think will be the case). George, Lou Will and Montrezl Harrell are the guys to target.

The Los Angeles Clippers will hold SG/SF Kawhi Leonard out for Monday night’s game vs. the Indiana Pacers for load management. This isn’t surprising news, as Leonard hasn’t played the second night of a back-to-back all season. Coach Doc Rivers had also alluded to one of Leonard and Paul George sitting and PG wasn’t going to sit out against his former team.

Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Los Angeles Clippers SG/SF Kawhi Leonard

So with Leonard out, PG-13 ($7,800) is a prime GPP target on DraftKings. Take this with a grain of salt, but I’ve got a hunch George will have a big night back in Indiana. Narrative aside, you can’t deny the minutes and usage PG should have if this game remains close.

We also know that JaMychal Green, Landry Shamet and Rodney McGruder are also out for the Clips, so their rotation is thin. I think this opens up Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell to be viable tournament plays on DK. Moe Harkless and Ivica Zubac are also in play.

If you got in on the betting line while the Pacers were getting plus-odds, good on you, because it’s going to be moving in Indiana’s favor now that Leonard is out.
