The Kansas City Chiefs got a huge win in Week 14 over the New England Patriots, and also appeared to dodge a serious injury. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes bruised his hand in the victory, but head coach Andy Reid said he did not break his hand, according to team reporter B.J. Kissel.
Early in the game, announcer Tony Romo noted that something seemed a bit off with Mahomes’ throwing. He was struggling with his grip and it led to some accuracy issues. However, he settled down to a certain degree and gutted it out. Mahomes finished the game completed 26 of 40 passes for 283 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The Chiefs held on to beat the Patriots 23-16 and clinch the AFC West.
The Chiefs host the Denver Broncos in Week 15 following Denver’s impressive road upset of the Houston Texans. Denver gave up 292 passing yards to DeShaun Watson, but forced two interceptions and it took Watson 50 attempts to get his numbers.
