The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles kick off Monday Night Football in less than three hours, and the Eagles badly need a win. If they lose they still remain only one game back of the Dallas Cowboys, but a win ties them up and puts them in the driver’s seat to secure the division when they square off with Dallas in Week 16.
Neither defense is overly impressive, with the Giants plain bad and the Eagles struggling with consistency. We might not see a shootout given questions surrounding Eli Manning, but it could be a fun one given the shaky defenses.
One question to consider is who will get on the board first. The Giants are a big enough underdog that it’s not surprising DraftKings Sportsbook has two Eagles listed on odds to score a touchdown before the first Giants player shows up. Eagles running back Miles Sanders is listed at +450 and wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is installed at +650.
After that, Giants running back Saquon Barkley shows up. He was listed at +700, but DK has boosted him to +790 for tonight. Here are the top 11 players for first to score a touchdown. Jordan Howard would have made a lot of sense, but he’s not playing. If you think the Eagles roll in this one, Zach Ertz or Dallas Goedert might offer the most interesting odds.
If you think the Giants might jump on board, Barkley’s the safest pick, but tight end Kaden Smith — starting in place of Evan Engram and Rhett Ellison — is a low key intriguing option. He scored a touchdown in Week 12, and has 11 targets over the past two weeks. We don’t know how or if Eli will target him, but there’s strong sleeper value at +2000.
