What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 11?
Mahomes had a tremendous fantasy outing in his return from a dislocated kneecap, airing it out for 446 yards and three touchdowns (32.84 DKFP), although the Chiefs suffered a disappointing loss to the Titans. While he’s off the Week 11 main slate on DK, Mahomes’ salary is unchanged for MNF agains the Chargers.
Los Angeles ranks just about average against QBs this season, but Mahomes is in position for a typical game it would appear. You’re obviously playing him in season-long, and if you want to play any slates that extend to MNF, Mahomes is worth his salary, generally anytime he’s at this price point or below.
What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 10?
The Chiefs improved Mahomes practice workload in Week 9, but it was still not enough to get him on the field. They listed him as questionable, but he unsurprisingly ended up inactive for the game. Matt Moore put together a solid game in his place, throwing for 275 yards and a touchdown to finish with 15 DKFP.
Kansas City travels to face the Titans in Week 10, and chances are growing Mahomes returns for this game. He will pass through a key timeline barrier this week in which his chances of re-dislocating his knee cap decrease considerably. He will likely be a game-day decision, but if he does play, his DK salary is $7,000 — the same as last week. Moore got a slight bump from last week, up $100 to $4,900 for the game if he plays.
What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 9?
Mahomes shocked us with his ability to practice in a limited capacity last week with a dislocated kneecap, but in the end, he wound up being ruled out. While the Chiefs are pleased with his progression, it seems like they’re targeting a Week 10 return against the Titans. Mahomes should be considered doubtful for a Week 9 matchup against the Vikings, meaning we’ll see one more week of Matt Moore. After scoring 19 DKFP against the Packers in Week 8, Moore is on the value radar at just $4,800 on the Week 9 main slate.
What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 8?
Week 7 was not a good week for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Midway through the second quarter, Mahomes executed a quarterback sneak and injured his knee on the play. He was x-rayed and quickly ruled out with what looked like a dislocated knee cap injury. The team is getting him an MRI on Friday, at which point we’ll have a better idea of his status moving forward.
Mahomes finished the game with 7.24 DKFP, completing 10 of 11 passes for 76 yards and one touchdown. The Chiefs host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football next week, but Mahomes seems unlikely to play in that game.
What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 7?
What is going on with Mahomes? He’s essentially played to his floor three weeks in a row, scoring about 21 DKFP in each game (after 30-plus in each of the first three games). The Chiefs have lost consecutive games to AFC South opponents (IND/HOU), both at Arrowhead Stadium. They need to bounce-back here, but the spot isn’t all that friendly — going on the road to Denver for a divisional matchup on a short week.
The Broncos have allowed the second-fewest DKFP to the QB position, and know Mahomes well. For the first time in a while, Mahomes actually isn’t the most expensive QB on the Thursday-Monday slate, sitting $100 below Deshaun Watson. You’re obviously riding with Mahomes in season-long, but this isn’t the week to chase him in DFS. Fortunately, he’s not on the Week 7 main slate.
What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 6?
Mahomes is essentially coming off consecutive games in which he’s played down to his floor — which is higher than anyone else, up at 21 DKFP. If there’s a get right spot, it’s at home against the Texans. The only cause for concern here will be making sure Mahomes’ ankle is healthy, but assuming it is, he’s worth the $7,500 on DK.
The Texans’ defense just allowed 36 DKFP to Matt Ryan in Houston, in a game we saw feature 85 points. This is a spot that Mahomes should be able to get back into the 30-plus DKFP range, especially with the potential return of Tyreek Hill.
What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 5?
Mahomes had his worst fantasy outing of the season in Week 4 at Detroit. While he threw for 315 yards and ran for 54 more, he failed to reach the end zone for the first time in a game in either of the last two seasons. Mahomes will face the Colts on SNF this week, so we won’t have him as a target on the DraftKings’ main slate, but his salary remains unchanged at $7,500 if you’re playing a slate that includes this game. That’s a fair price for a below average Indy defense versus QB, in a huge bounce-back spot for Mahomes.
You’re obviously playing Mahomes in all season long formats every week, but in DFS, he should still be considered an elite target on the 15-game slate and the SNF showdown slate.
What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 4?
Mahomes is as consistent as it gets for a fantasy QB. The matchup doesn’t seem to matter, nor do the receiving options placed around him. Mahomes has topped 30 DKFP in every game this season, and a matchup against the Lions indoors in Detroit in Week 4 shouldn’t have you thinking he won’t do it again.
With Tyreek Hill out, Mahomes has just made other players fantasy relevant — Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman have combined for over 85 DKFP in the last two games. The RB position is completely decimated at the moment, which also hasn’t slowed the Chiefs’ offense. If anything, it could be helping Mahomes sling the ball more.
There’s not much else to say on the gunslinger. Mahomes is well worth his $7,500 salary in Week 4, the only question is if you’d prefer to pay down for better value to help roster other studs on DraftKings. Mahomes is a terrific play week in and week out.
What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 3?
The weapons around Mahomes are almost meaningless at this point. As long as he has capable pass-catchers, his massive arm keeps him in position to go off for a huge fantasy outing. After topping 30 DKFP against Jacksonville in Week 1, he went off more more than 35 DKFP in Week 2 in Oakland. Mahomes aired it out for 443 yards and four passing touchdowns, which pushes his salary up another $100 ahead of Week 3.
Mahomes checks in at $7,600 for the home opener, which happens to be a high profile matchup against a 2-0 Ravens squad, led by another red-hot QB in Lamar Jackson. With a total set up at 55.5 points, this one sets up as another shootout, and Baltimore has the potential to keep it close, which only elevates Mahomes’ fantasy value late in the game. As dominant as the QB was against the Raiders, he didn’t even have to keep his foot on the gas late.
What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 2?
I was flat out wrong about the spot Mahomes was in Week 1, as he went off for 30.32 DKFP in Jacksonville. While the Raiders looked surprisingly strong defensively in Week 1, it was against Joe Flacco and a seemingly incapable Denver offense. Mahomes had a monster game in Oakland last season, and is in position to do so again.
Mahomes salary does jump $300 after the big start to the season, but $7,500 is a fair price for him in this spot. There are some red flags about Kansas City’s offense, though, as Mahomes did sprain his ankle during the win. He played through it, and looked good, but it’s just something to be sure to monitor throughout the week. Tyreek Hill is going to miss time due to a collarbone/shoulder injury, which leaves Mahomes without his top target. That said, Sammy Watkins was dominant against the Jags, leading the entire slate with nearly 50 DKFP. Watkins and rookie Mecole Hardman should be enough to keep this passing attack rolling in Oakland.
Patrick Mahomes’ 2019 fantasy football preview
Mahomes had historic numbers through the air in his first season as the Chiefs’ starter, topping 5,000 passing yards with 50 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions. While we have to expect some regression, it might not be much. Even a 4,800-yard, 40-touchdown season is an extremely successful one.
The offense slowed down a little bit at times after Kareem Hunt’s departure last season, but that’s now in the rearview. Most of us assumed that Tyreek Hill’s off-field actions also would cost him some games, but it appears he’ll be a full-go this season, and Mahomes gets another speedster next to him in Mecole Hardman, who put up monster numbers at Georgia. We also can’t forget about Sammy Watkins, who has plenty of potential when healthy.
The Chargers are expected to provide resistance within the AFC West, but the injury bug has hurt them in camp. After plenty of narratives supporting some regression for the Chiefs this offseason, they’re all the sudden in the past with the season arriving. Mahomes is clearly the top fantasy QB option this season, but Week 1 isn’t an easy spot.
What is Patrick Mahomes’ fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 1?
Mahomes is justifiably the most expensive QB on the Week 1 main slate at $7,200. But his monster numbers last season don’t mean he’s the best play on this slate, especially at $600 more than any other signal caller. Jacksonville ranked ninth in DK points allowed to QBs last season, and this defense is just a couple of seasons removed from being the best in the league in 2017.
Mahomes averaged an insane 28 DK points in 2018, and you’re paying for some of that production in his salary on this slate. The Jaguars were the only defense to prevent Mahomes from throwing a touchdown pass in a regular season game last year, although he did rush one into the end zone in that matchup. The Jags will be home against the Chiefs this time around, and while Mahomes might not have a bad game, his salary might just be too much to reach on with all the value on the board.
