What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 13?
Anything would have been better than the Week 11 game for Watson and he responded with a 19.9 DKFP performance over the Colts. He completed 19-of-30 pass attempts for 298 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 10 on three attempts. Now comes a very tough matchup against the Patriots, who have held opposing QB’s to an average of 9.8 DKFP and 181 passing yards. This game takes place in primetime on Sunday night so salaries have yet to be released.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 12?
The only celebrating Watson owners did on Sunday was that this nightmare of a game finally ended. In one of his worst performances, Watson didn’t throw a touchdown and only had 169 yards on 18-of-29 attempts for 5.96 DKFP. A quick turnaround comes in Week 12 in a Thursday night matchup against the Colts, which salaries have not been released for as of yet. The Colts allow an average of 17.6 DKFP to opposing QB’s which is one of the lower scores in the league.
\What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 11?
The Texans are coming off their bye week and look ahead to a matchup against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, who dismantled the Bengals by a score of 49-13. The Texans will be on the road for this game after playing in London in Week 9.
In what is expected to be one of the highest-scoring games of the week, which opened with an over/under of 49 and has jumped to 50.5 early Monday morning. The Ravens have been a tough team against opposing quarterbacks, allowing an average of just 16.8 DKFP. No team has passed for more than a single touchdown with the exception of the Chiefs, we had three. Watson is certainly not a fade but this is by far one of the toughest matchups they’ll face. If there is anything we can take away from this defense is that teams have started to run against them, as they’ve given up an average of 92 rushing yards over the last three weeks. As the third most expensive quarterback at $6,800, Watson is best used for tournaments only.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 10?
I was fully prepared to potentially see a less than 100% performance from Watson in Week 9. First and foremost, he was playing with 1 1⁄2 eyes in this game. Second, the team went across the pond to play in London on a neutral field. With all of that said, he still came up with 19.4 DKFP, completing 22-of-28 pass attempts for 201 yards and two touchdowns. His legs also gained him another 37 yards, marking the fifth-straight game that he’s surpassed 30 on the ground. In a game where I wasn’t expected a whole lot, this was a pleasant surprise.
Watson now has a week to rest up as the Texans are one of six teams on the bye in Week 10. Looking ahead, the Texans’ next matchup will come on the road against the Ravens, who have really been tough against opposing quarterbacks. Here in Week 10, the Ravens are allowing an average of 17.3 DKFP, which is one of the lowest in the league. Aside from Patrick Mahomes, no quarterback has thrown for more than one touchdown against this team but of course, we’ll see how the numbers line up after a game against the Bengals.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 9?
Watson continues to be a top play on a week-to-week basis, posting 27.76 DKFP against the Raiders in Week 8. Completing 27-of-39 pass attempts, Watson threw for 279 yards, three touchdowns and rushed for 46 yards on 10 attempts. Watson even completed a touchdown pass to TE Darren Fells, all while taking a cleat to the face that somehow managed to clip him, even through the face mask. With the 27-24 win, the Texans sit in second in the AFC South with a record of 5-3.
Watson and the Texans are off the main slate this week as they play at 9:30 a.m. ET from London against the Jaguars. It’s a defense that are allowing an average of 19 DKFP, 257 passing yards and 11 touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks this season. They’ve had a soft schedule over the past two weeks, facing the Bengals and Jets, who combined to throw 494 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. Watson should fare much better against this team that has also allowed two rushing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks. Watson’s floor continues to be high and his ceiling even higher even without deep threat Will Fuller out of the mix.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 8?
Watson and the Texans couldn’t complete the come from behind win against the Texans and instead fell by a score of 30-23. While it was a good outing from him, it wasn’t what we’ve seen over the past two weeks. After scoring 44.7 and 31.4 DKFP, Watson could only come up with 20.5, throwing for 308 yards and only one touchdown. He still isn’t rushing as much as we’d like but still averaged 10.6 yards on his three attempts.
Week 8 sees him with the second-highest salary of the week at $7,100, trailing only Russell Wilson against the Falcons at $7,200. This is the most expensive he’s been through the first seven weeks, surpassing last weeks at $7,000. He has a fantastic matchup ahead against a Raiders team that’s allowing an average of 24.7 DKFP, 301 passing yards and 16 touchdowns, which is tied for the second-highest total in the league. Watson will be down a receiver with news that Will Fuller will be out the next couple of weeks, which looks to benefit Keke Coutee. When Fuller is off the field, Coutee has seen a massive 42.9% target share to lead the team.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 7?
Watson and the Texans handed the Chiefs their second straight loss by a score of 31-24. Watson was stellar once again, scoring 31.4 DKFP despite only throwing for 280 yards and one touchdown. Instead, he did the majority of his damage on the ground, rushing the ball 10 times for 42 yards and two touchdowns. He’s now rushed a score in five times this season and is averaging 27.3 yards with his legs.
Watson is the most expensive quarterback on this slate in a matchup against the Colts. At $7,000, Watson sees his salary bump to $300. The Colts have hovered around league average in terms of fantasy production allowed to opposing quarterbacks. Per game, they’ve given up an average of 20.7 DKFP, 260 passing yards and 10 touchdowns. The Colts run defense has been great so this may not be the best spot for Watson to run but he should be able to feed his receivers against this Colts secondary.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 6?
If you were patient with Watson so far this season, your patience was rewarded in Week 5. He’d end as the QB1 of the entire slate, completing 28/33 pass attempts for a massive 426 yards and five touchdowns. He gained 47 yards on the ground as well, taking four rushes in the process. It continued the defensive woes of the Falcons, who are now allowing an average of 25.3 DKFP to opposing quarterbacks, which is the third-highest in the league.
The buzz on Watson will be high in Week 6, ahead of their matchup against the Chiefs. His salary remained the same at $6,700 but with only 10 games being played, makes him the third most expensive quarterback on the slate. The Chiefs are allowing an average of 251 passing yards and 19 DKFP to opposing QB’s heading into this game. While the Texans’ offensive line has been one of their biggest issues, he did not take a sack in Week 5. It may speak volumes of how poor the Falcons defense is but it’s a positive trend for an O-Line that is desperate for one. Regardless, expect another huge performance from Watson against a defense who kept Jacoby Brissett in check but still took the loss.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 5?
It was a mediocre performance at best for Watson, who lost to the Panthers by a score of 16-10. Despite chucking the ball 33 times, Watson completed 21 of those pass attempts for 160 yards and 12.6 DKFP. He failed to throw for a touchdown for the second time this season but still has six under his belt thanks to three in both Week 1 and Week 3. His day was somewhat salvaged by rushing in for his third touchdown but otherwise gained just 12 yards on three attempts. For someone who averaged 34 yards per game on the ground last season, his 18.8 mark is certainly concerning.
Watson sees a $400 jump to $6,700 in his salary ahead of their Week 5 matchup against the Falcons. This is a defense that have allowed an average of 22 DKFP and 222 passing yards to opposing quarterbacks thus far. At this rate, it feels a bit tough to trust Watson on a week-to-week basis and not necessarily one I want to target at this rate. Watson is currently second in the league in sacks taken with 18, trailing only Kyler Murray who has 20. Watson would be someone that would be considered paying up for, as Lamar Jackson ($7,100) is the most expensive. I would much rather take some savings and look elsewhere. With the way he’s been playing, Watson being the second-most expensive quarterback doesn’t make much sense here.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 4?
Watson may have had his best showing of the season in Week 3 against the Chargers in their 27-20 win. Watson completed 25/34 pass attempts for 351 yards and three touchdowns. Watson also took a season-high seven rush attempts albeit only going 18 yards. In all, he ended with 29.8 DKFP, just shy of his current season-high of 31.7 which came in Week 1 against the Saints.
Week 4 brings a matchup against the Panthers, who care currently 1-2 on the year and will be without Cam Newton for a second straight week. They’ve been very strong against opposing QB’s, allowing an average of just 14.5 DKFP and 189 passing yards. In fact, Jamies Winston currently has the most passing yards against them and he only threw for 208 on 25 attempts. Watson’s salary remains the same from Week 3, staying at $6,400.
With that in mind, opposing receivers have gone for over 126 yards in each game this season. In particular, CB Donte Jackson has been burned in coverage thus far, as he’s been targeted against 20 times allowing 12 receptions for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Normally, he’d line up against Deandre Hopkins but I’d expect him to draw shadow coverage from CB James Bradberry. That could open up a potentially big game for Will Fuller, who fantasy owners would love a breakout game from.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 3?
Watson will be taking on the Chargers in Week 3 and is likely coming into this game feeling a bit sore. His offensive line has been doing him no favors, allowing him to be sacked a whopping 10 times already, which currently leads the league. With that said, he’s in for a decent bounce-back spot against the Chargers, who will continue to operate without DB Derwin James. In his absence, the Chargers have allowed four passing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks and an average of 217 yards and 16.8 DKFP.
Watson continues to hover in the mid $6K range in terms of salary, landing on $6,400 in Week 3. That salary makes him the fifth most expensive option on the slate, sandwiched in between Dak Prescott ($6,500) and Russell Wilson ($6,300) against an offense now lead by Teddy Bridgewater ($4,700). The receivers surrounding Watson are obviously a plus but the Texans desperately need to fix their offensive line issues to give Watson time to get a pass off. With his lack of rushing attempts as well, only eight in his first two games, Watson feels more like a tournament option than a cash game play.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 2?
DeShaun Watson had a monster debut to the 2019 season throwing for 268 yards and three touchdowns with one interception, and rushing for 40 yards and a touchdown. The Texans should have won the game on his last minute touchdown drive, but a poor defensive play-call in the final minute cost the team in New Orleans.
DraftKings appears to see a tougher Week 2 matchup and a step back. They have lowered his price $200 to $6,600 as Watson and the Texans prepare to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. Pat Mahomes had a monster day against the Jaguars, so there could be considerable value in stacking Watson with DeAndre Hopkins. The Jaguars defense is better than what we saw last week, but enough to justify a price drop for Watson? That’s peculiar.
Deshaun Watson 2019 fantasy football preview
The hype around Watson was high in 2018, but between injuries to himself and his receivers, it didn’t exactly live up to expectations. With quarterbacks who can rush becoming all the rage, Watson brings that plus some incredible receivers alongside him into the 2019 season to really bring the noise.
Even in a year where injuries arose, Watson still ended the year as the QB4, completing 345 of 505 pass attempts for 4,165 yards and 26 touchdowns. On the ground, he ran the ball 99 times for 551 yards and five rushing touchdowns. If he can accomplish that with a chest injury and injuries to Will Fuller V and Keke Coutee, you can imagine what he can do on a team with good health.
The upside for Watson is high each and every week and when he’s able to throw to someone with the talent of DeAndre Hopkins, magic can be made. These two connected on 115 of the 163 targets thrown Hopkins way for 1,572 yards and 11 touchdowns. With Fuller ready to go for Week 1, it should help draw away double coverage from Hopkins, opening up more opportunities for their WR1.
What is Deshaun Watson’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 1?
Currently, Watson is only available on the full 15-game slate that features both the Thursday and the Monday night games. Watson and the Texans will be featured Monday night prime time game against the Saints. Overall, Watson is the second most expensive option at QB at $6,800 and rightfully so. He averaged 22.3 DKFP in 2018 and faces a Saints defense that allowed an average of 23.1 DKFP to opposing quarterbacks and an average of 285 passing yards.
Finally, this game currently has the highest projected total of all 16 games this week, as the DraftKings Sportsbook has it set at 53.5 with the Saints (-7) the favorites. With that in mind, the potential for Watson playing from behind makes him all the more enticing in what should put Monday Night Football off to a good start since, you know, it wasn’t great last year.
