What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 13?
After a tough Week 11, Chubb bounced-back in a big away against the Dolphins, rushing for 106 yards on 21 attempts and a touchdown, good for 28.4 DKFP. Despite this being his second-highest fantasy output of the season, Chubb falls down to $7,800 in salary thanks to another matchup against the Steelers, who just held him to 9.2 DKFP in Week 11. The Steelers have been one of the tougher run defenses’ in the league, making Chubb a risky cash play but a great tournament option in Week 13.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 12?
In what was expected to be a tough matchup for Chubb, he came away with only 9.2 DKFP against the Steelers despite rushing 27 times for 92 yards. Not reaching the end zone hurt him overall, making it four straight games he hasn’t done so. He draws one of the softest matchups of the Browns’ schedule against the Dolphins, who rank as one of the worst run defenses in the league, all while seeing a $600 increase in salary to $8,100.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 11?
In a favorable matchup against the Bills, who have been a defense that teams can run on, Chubb went for 116 yards on 20 carries while catching two of his four targets for five yards. In all, he ended with 17.1 DKFP. The addition of Kareem Hunt did come into play but he only carried the ball four times for 30 yards. Where Hunt was active was in the passing game, catching seven of his nine targets for 44 yards and 14.4 DKFP. If this is the plan moving forward, Chubb will still be a very active part of this offense and the compliment of Hunt shouldn’t deter people at all. In terms of snap counts, Chubb played on 81% while Hunt was on for 55%
The Browns drew the short straw and have the short week, as they’ll face the Steelers Thursday evening. This is a much tougher team to run on, as they’ve allowed an average of 18.9 DKFP, 86 rushing yards and 32 receiving yards. As you can imagine, all of these numbers are amongst the lowest in the league. The Steelers have only seen three teams rush for over 100 yards, the last being the Colts in Week 9. While Chubb is essentially someone you play regardless, this is by far one of his toughest matchups of the year. With salaries not released as of yet, expect Chubb to be one of the most expensive options in Single-Game Showdown, where he’s most likely more of a flex option and not a captain.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 10?
‘Twas another “L” for the Browns in Week 9, succumbing to the Broncos by a score of 24-19. Chubb, who was facing a Broncos defense that you can run against, collected only 65 yards on the ground on 20 carries and an additional 26 yards through the air. In all, it was a quiwt 13.1 DKFP performance from the Browns RB1. Luckily for Chubb, his outlook for Week 10 looks promising.
Facing a Bills team that is going to be very tough to throw against, Chubb could be fed more than usual this week. With his salary decreasing by $300, he comes in with a $7,000 price tag against a defense that’s allowed a total of 289 rushing yards to the Eagles and Redskins (!) over the last two weeks. I mean, c’mon, if Adrian Peterson is going to run train on this team, why can’t Chubb? Logging at least 20 carries in three straight games, don’t be afraid to go back to one of the most consistent players in a very inconsistent Browns offense.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 9?
It seems as if no matter what run defense is in front of him, Chubb finds a way to break tackles and finds running lanes to gain yardage. Against a Patriots defense that allowed an average of 56 rushing yards prior to seeing Chubb, he went off for 131 yards on 20 carries. Chubb did fumble the ball twice but overall, it was an impressive performance. The Patriots have now allowed only two running backs to rush for over 100 yards against them, the other being Frank Gore, who did so for 109 yards in Week 4.
Chubb sees a significant increase in salary to $7,300, up from his $6,600 in Week 8. His matchup, on paper, is a much more friendly one. The Broncos are allowing an average of 94 rushing yards and 35 receiving yards. Opposing backs are averaging 23.8 DKFP and have scored a total of seven touchdowns. With the Browns receivers potentially running into issues against a solid Broncos secondary, Chubb could see his target share rise this week after only drawing one over the past two weeks. With the sheer volume that Chubb receives, he’s setup for another big week against a much softer run defense.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 8?
Chubb and the Browns are coming off their bye week with a lot of preparation time for the Patriots. The last time we saw Chubb take the field it was in Week 6 against the Seahawks. In that game, Chubb carried the ball 20 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns while also catching five of his six targets for 17 yards. In all, he came away from that game with 32.9 DKFP, his second-highest fantasy output of the season.
Week 8 brings a matchup against the Patriots at Gillette Stadium. With a salary of $6,600, Chubb is $700 cheaper than he was in Week 6 but has a much tougher matchup. The Patriots run defense is allowing an average of only 13.5 DKFP, the second-lowest total in the league. Aside from the Bills with 109 rushing yards, no team has seen their backs run for more than 66 and they have yet to go in for a touchdown. This is shaping up to be a week where Chubb could be best left on the board while building your lineups.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 7?
Nick Chubb put together his second best performance of the season this past week against the Seattle Seahawks. He rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and added five receptions for 17 yards. His 32.90 DKFP was fifth best performance at DraftKings in Week 6. It’s been an every other week big performance for him, rushing for three touchdowns two weeks prior, and one touchdown with a busy receiving day two weeks prior to that.
The Browns head into their bye in Week 7. They face a rough schedule coming out of the bye, traveling to face the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos and then hosting the Buffalo Bills.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 6?
I don’t think you’ll see many positive pieces about the Browns this upcoming week. If you came here to read one, you’re not getting it. The Browns were completely dismantled by the 49ers, who were well rested and prepared for this matchup. Chubb was essentially the only bright spot in this game, rushing the ball 16 times for 87 yards and catching his only target for another 12 yards. Yup, that performance gave him 10.9 DKFP and was one of two players who made it into double-digit fantasy points. Yes, that includes Baker Mayfield, who had 1 DKFP. One.
Chubb and the Browns now have to deal with the Seahawks in Week 6. With the Monday game just happening, Chubb receives just a $100 salary bump ahead of this matchup. The Seahawks have yet to allow a team to rush for more than 74 yards in a game, which was done so by the Steelers in Week 2. Where they’ve been beaten is through the air, as opposing backs are averaging 54.2 yards, which is amongst the highest in the league. Even in a game where the Browns were behind the entire time, Chubb was on the field for 88% of the snaps. While his usage in the passing game is sporadic, expect him to be a big part of their offense once again with high upside.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 5?
I’ll tell you one person who wasn’t thrilled with Chubb’s performance in Week 4 and that’s Kareem Hunt. If he ever even though he had a chance to take over the RB1 position on this team, it’s looking worse and worse every passing week.
Chubb is coming off his best game of the season, rushing the ball 20 times for 165 yards and three touchdowns while catching three of his four targets for an additional 18 yards, good for 42.3 DKFP. This Ravens defense looks to be a shell of their former selves and injuries continue to mount and teams are exploiting them. After this week, the Ravens are now allowing an average of 23.1 DKFP and 86 rushing yards per game to opposing backs.
In Week 5, Chubb is off the main slate and will be playing in the Monday night against an impressive 49ers defense. They’re coming off a bye week so we haven’t seen them since the played the Steelers in Week 3. Thus far, the Niners have been stellar against the run, allowing an average of just 9.1 DKFP, 60 rushing yards and are one of two teams to allow an RB to score, the other being the Patriots. While Chubb will get plenty of opportunities in this game, it’s a very tough spot for him and may need rely on some passing plays to return value on his salary. While he’s someone I wouldn’t sit in season-long leagues, he’s a tough sell against the Niners in Week 5.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 4?
Chubb hasn’t had the easiest schedule to begin the year but has still come away with some good games. Facing the Titans, Jets and Rams, Chubb is still averaging 77.7 rushing yards and 27 through the year with 15 targets and 11 receptions. Chubb posted new season-highs in carries (23) rushing yards (96) and targets (7) in the Browns loss to the Rams. Unfortunately for him, he draws another tough matchup against the Ravens in Week 4.
Chubb checks in at $6,400 after being off the main slate in Week 3. At least from Week 2, he’s down $100 since we last saw him. Chubb was hardly off the field in Week 3, missing just one snap. Because of that, he handled all 100% of the running back duties, as D’Ernet Johnson was a complete non-factor, only taking snaps on special teams.
The Ravens finally showed some chinks in the armor in Week 3 when the Chiefs ran 124 yards against them. They also allowed all eight targets to be caught for an additional 73 yards and a TD. Chubb is certainly one of their toughest opponents thus far, as the Cardinals and Dolphins didn’t pose much of a threat in the first two weeks. With Baker Mayfield exhibiting some issues in the early portion of the season, Chubb could be forced to continue his huge workload in what should be a challenging matchup.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 3?
Chubb and the Browns easily handled the Jets during Monday Night Football in Week 2. With a 23-3 win for the Browns, Chubb handled 18 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown while also catching all four of his targets for an additional 36 yards. Chubb continues to take on a workhourse role for this team, as D’Ernest Johnson only took three carries in this game.
Week 3 brings another primetime matchup, so Chubb and the Browns will be off the main slate. They’ll be facing the Rams and a run defense that held Alvin Kamara and the Saints in check in Week 2. Granted, an injury to Drew Brees didn’t exactly help the Saints so take that with a grain of salt. Where the Rams have been burned so far is with receiving backs, as they’ve allowed 12-of-15 targets to be caught for 112 yards, which is the ninth highest in the league. With Chubb getting as much work as he has, he should be in for another busy night at home.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 2?
Despite a friendly $6,400 salary against the Titans, Chubb managed 75 yards on 17 carries and an additional 10 yards on three catches. The Browns only rushed for one touchdown in this game and it was Dontrell Hilliard, not Chubb, who rushed one in. While this isn’t the game plan moving forward, it was a frustrating day for Chubb but against a run defense that was stellar last season. The Titans held opposing back to an average of 19 DKFP and 96.5 rushing yards per game.
The Browns head east to face the New York Jets on Monday Night Football in Week 2. The Bills averaged 5.1 yards per carry in their Week 1 win over the Jets. Linebacker C.J. Mosley and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams are both sitting out the game, which could open up the middle of the field for Chubb.
Nick Chubb 2019 fantasy football preview
Worrying about Chubb because Kareem Hunt is on the team is nonsense. It’s like cashing out your 401(k) at the age of 35. Have your fun now and then we’ll worry about the rest later (I’m not an advocate for doing so. Save up, kids!). Truly though, Chubb made his mark last season and should continue to do so in 2019. This is a player that didn’t see double-digit carries until Week 7 last season and still came just shy of 1,000 rushing yards. Once those carries started to pile up, Chubb would go on to average 82.3 YPG between Weeks 7-17 with six touchdowns.
While the hype on the Browns is at an all-time high due to their offseason acquisitions, it didn’t come at the expense at other positions. Their offensive line can be considered average at best and could pose as an issue for Chubb as the season moves on. Still, Chubb showed why the Browns invested such a high pick in him and as long as he performs, should have a strangle hold on the starting RB1 job, even when Hunt is eligible to return in Week 10 against the the Bills.
What is Nick Chubb’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 1?
As you’d imagine, the running back position is completely loaded with studs at the top. Chubb checks in as the ninth most expensive option at $6,400. It’s quite an affordable price for someone who ran away with this job toward the end of the season. The Titans defense stands around league average against the run but what saved them was allowing just six rushing touchdowns. That helped keep their DKFP total to an average of 19, which was the third lowest in the league. It’ll be a work in progress for the Titans this year and getting to them early in the year could be the key. While Chubb isn’t the most enticing play on the slate at running back, his salary makes him a great mid-tier option and should continue seeing the double-digit carries we cane so accustomed to last season.
