What is Evan Engram’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 10?
Engram had six catches for 48 yards and finished the day with 11.0 DKFP. He suffered a foot sprain injury during the game and has been ruled out for Week 10 vs. the Jets.
What is Evan Engram’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 9?
Evan Engram got off to a big start this season, but a knee injury slowed him down and he is slowly working his way back. In Week 8 against the Detroit Lions, he had four receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown to finish with 14 DKFP.
This weekend, the Giants host the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. It will be a Showdown matchup, so we do not have prices quite yet. The Giants are expecting wide receiver Sterling Shepard to be healthy, so while the Cowboys defense is inconsistent, there will be more pass catchers sharing the ball this weekend.
What is Evan Engram’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 8?
Engram returned from a knee injury and struggled to get going with Daniel Jones. Engram was targeted five times in the game, but caught only one pass for six yards to finish with 1.6 DKFP. Rhett Ellison ended up with the more productive day, catching both of his targets for 33 yards and a touchdown.
The Giants travel to face the Lions in Week 8, and Engram’s DraftKings salary drops $1,200 to $5,300. Ellison is only $2,800, but Engram is always the play if you’re going with a Giants tight end. Jones is struggling, but there might be some value if the Giants can turn it around this week. The Lions are in the middle of the pack in terms of giving up fantasy points to tight ends, so there could be some value there.
6500 to 5300
What is Evan Engram’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 7?
Evan Engram was sidelined for the Giants Week 6 Thursday Night Football due to an MCL sprain. However, this week he has returned to practice in full alongside Saquon Barkley. The team still has two more practice sessions, but if he is full for both of them, he is likely to play this weekend against the Arizona Cardinals.
This matchup is why his DraftKings price has increased $700 to $6,500 in spite of the injury issue. The Giants are facing a Cardinals defense that is the worst in the league by a long-shot when it comes to defending tight ends. They give up the most fantasy points to the position, and if Engram is healthy, he would be a good start in Week 7.
What is Evan Engram’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 6?
Evan Engram remains a popular target for rookie quarterback Daniel Jones, but the offense is going to be inconsistent. In Week 5, Engram was targeted 11 times, and while he finished the game with seven receptions, he only had 42 yards. It netted him 10.7 DKFP.
Things get dicey in Week 6 with the Giants facing the Patriots on Thursday Night Football. Engram’s price is $10,800, but there’s a decent chance he misses the game. He showed up on the Monday practice participation report with a knee injury, and on Tuesday we learned he has an MCL sprain. That kind of injury usually results in some missed time, but the Giants are not announcing anything yet.
What is Evan Engram’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 5?
Evan Engram saw a dip in production against Washington in Week 4. He finished with four receptions for 54 yards, leading to 9.4 DKFP. It marked his first single digit performance of the year, although it’s worth noting he’s alternated big and average performances, with point totals starting in Week 1 of 31.6, 10.8, 26.3, and now 9.4.
Adding a rookie quarterback into the mix may explain part of the recent inconsistency. Sterling Shepard returned in Week 3 after a one-week absence, and has been a force. But where it gets more interesting is the return of Golden Tate in Week 5. He finished his suspension and has been activated to the 53-man roster. Daniel Jones suddenly has a lot of mouths to feed.
Engram’s price increased $100 to $5,800 this week as the Giants host the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings defense has given up the 13th most points to tight ends, so they sit right there near the middle of the pack. In traditional leagues Engram is a must start, but in DFS, this might be a week to consider alternatives while we figure out who will get targets for Big Blue.
What is Evan Engram’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 4?
The Giants stunned the Buccaneers in Week 3 behind quarterback Daniel Jones, and it is no surprise Evan Engram was a big part of it. Engram had six receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown in Jones’ starting debut. He finished with 26.3 DKFP, which is all the more impressive considering Sterling Shepard also had seven receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown and they lost running back Saquon Barkley to an ankle injury.
The Giants offense has been a mess, but it started clicking in the second half, and now faces an intriguing Week 4 home matchup with Washington. While Washington has talented players on defense, the unit has not come together. It’s an ideal matchup for Jones, and Engram is likely to benefit again. His price has gone up $500 to $5,700, but he will likely be completely worth it.
What is Evan Engram’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 3?
The Giants are a dumpster fire, but Engram continues to get his looks. He finished Week 2 with six receptions for 48 yards. It’s not a great performance, but he’s built a strong floor through two weeks as a go-to target.
Things get interesting in Week 3 as the Giants travel to face the Buccaneers. Engram’s salary will not change this week, but questions abound as to the new quarterback. The Giants benched Eli Manning and Daniel Jones will make his starting debut. He likely has more upside than Eli at this point, but who knows who will become his safety blanket pass catcher.
What is Evan Engram’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 2?
Evan Engram hype SZN start off with a BANG as the Giants’ tight end was a monster in Week 1. Engram hauled in 11 balls on 14 targets for 116 yards and a touchdown and finished with a point total of 31.6 on DraftKings. Even as the fifth most expensive tight end last week, that’s still a big return on your investment.
Engram now enters Week 2 as the fourth most expensive tight end (moving up in the world) with a $5,200 salary. This is quite the drop off from those above him as Zach Ertz, the third most expensive tight end, is over $1000 more expensive. Engram will face a tough Buffalo defense this week but I have faith that Engram hype SZN will continue into Week 2.
Evan Engram 2019 fantasy football preview
Obviously the New York Giants are in a mild state of flux right now. First they traded away Odell Beckham Jr. after signing him to a “we promise you’ll be here forever” contract, then they drafted Daniel Jones so early, even draft expert Baker Mayfield was surprised. Who knows what the Giants offense will look like but rest assured, there are a ton of targets up for grabs this season.
Last year, Engram managed 45 catches for 577 and three touchdowns en route to finishing TE13 and averaging 11.5 points per game on DraftKings. But that was while sharing the stage with Beckham and dealing with Eli Manning’s noodle arm.
While Manning’s arm isn’t likely to change, the missing Beckham opens up a lot of opportunity for Engram to thrive this season. We’ve seen Engram put up big fantasy numbers before in a Beckham-less offense (Beckham missed Engram’s rookie season due to injury), to the tune of 64 balls on 115 targets for 722 and six touchdowns. I’m expecting this year to look a lot like that.
What is Evan Engram’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 1?
Engram faces off against the Cowboys in Week 1 with a price tag of $4,800 on DraftKings. He’s the fifth-most expensive tight end, falling right behind O.J. Howard at $5,000. The Dallas Cowboys surrendered the 26th most fantasy points to opposing tight ends last season so the matchup is certainly in Engram’s favor.
