What is Antonio Brown’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 3?
Brown made his debut with the Patriots in Week 2, and proceeded to lead the team with four receptions on eight targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in the team’s demolition of the Miami Dolphins. His 16.10 DFKP debut was good for 26th among receivers.
The Patriots host the New York Jets in Week 3, and Brown’s priced increased $100 to $7,100. It’s a choice matchup, but his status this week and beyond remains a question mark. It appears he will play in Week 3, but a suspension or spot on the Commissioner’s Exempt List remains a possibility. SI’s Robert Klemko published extensive reporting about other potential sexual misconduct and various bizarre behavioral patterns. Klemko followed that up with word that Brown sent harassing text messages to an unnamed accuser from the first article. The NFL has yet to comment on this aspect of the situation.
What is Antonio Brown’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 2?
The Antonio Brown 30-for-30 is going to be an incredible thing. So much happened without even playing a snap with the Oakland Raiders, but now he finds himself with the New England Patriots, assuming he signs on Monday as is been reported. Going from Derek Carr to Tom Brady is obviously a plus, but not right out of the gates.
Given his $7,000 DFS price, which ranks 11th among wide receivers, and not knowing how many snaps he will play as he gets adjusted to the offense, it might be wise to find other options in daily. If you’re playing traditional fantasy, it’s hard to sit a guy with Brown’s talent on the bench. Unless you are absolutely loaded at wideout, it’s likely worth the risk to roll him out there.
Antonio Brown preview, redux
Umm, well, it’s been an interesting week. Heck, it’s been an interesting 24 hours. After extensive back-and-forth with the Oakland Raiders, Brown asked for and received his release from the team. Less than four hours after he was released, Brown signed with the New England Patriots.
Given that the Patriots are playing a day after the signing, odds are pretty good Brown will not be playing in the game. His DFS value for Week 2 is tough to figure out. He’s a great wide receiver, but one has to wonder how ready he’ll be in a week, and what his target rate will look like on a team with Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, and Demaryius Thomas. Brown is the best of the bunch, but that’s a lot of mouths to feed.
Antonio Brown 2019 fantasy football preview
What an entrance into Oakland it has been for Antonio Brown. It’s much less stressful to go after AB in a DFS format because there is no telling how many headaches he will cause traditional fantasy owners, who put a high draft pick on a guy who has shown complete erratic behavior since his exit from the Steelers.
On the field, Brown is one of the most consistent wide receivers and among the most fun players to watch in the sport. In 2018, Brown went for 1,297 yards on 104 catches with 15 touchdowns. That was in an offense that featured NFL’s top passing yardage leader with Ben Roethlisberger. Now Brown finds himself with Derek Carr and the Raiders, which ranked No. 19 with 253.1 passing yards per game.
The Raiders put a big investment and a sizeable risk into Brown, so they will be doing all they can to make sure this decision is a good one. On the field, Brown is among the best in the game and has proven he can dominate defenses even as the top receiver. Brown should have all the opportunities for another big season.
What is Antonio Brown’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 1?
Antonio Brown checks in at ninth among wide receivers with a $7,400 price tag. It seems strange to see him ranked that low coming into a season, but with a completely new environment and a new quarterback getting him the ball, it remains to be seen how this will go especially at the start. Denver was a middle of the pack pass defense last year, but Brown has the talent to do damage any defense thrown his way.
