What is Sony Michel’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 10?
Michel had four rushes for 18 yards and one 12-yard reception to finish with four DKFP in Week 9. The Patriots are on bye in Week 10.
What is Sony Michel’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 9?
Sony Michel had a decent game on the ground in Week 8, but it was not enough to have much impact in daily fantasy football. He rushed 21 times for 74 yards, finishing the day with 7.4 DKFP against the Cleveland Browns. He had three touchdowns the week before, and given his inability to put up huge yardage totals this season, he is very touchdown-dependent.
The Patriots travel to face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9. It’s on Sunday Night Football, so we don’t have a price for his Showdown matchup. Baltimore has given up the ninth fewest fantasy points to the running back position.
What is Sony Michel’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 8?
Sony Michel is starting to put some things together, even if it hasn’t been pretty. He only managed 42 rushing yards on 19 attempts, but three goal to go carries resulted in three touchdowns, and he finished the game with 22.4 DKFP. With Rex Burkhead out, it was primarily Michel and James White, the latter of whom finished with 12.90 DKFP.
The Patriots host the Browns in Week 8, and Michel’s salary dropped $300 to $5,200. If Burkhead returns, it lowers Michel’s value a little bit. Michel has been most productive lately with Burkhead sidelined, so that will be something to track. If Burkhead sits, there is some solid value for Michel as he faces a Browns defense that has given up the seventh most fantasy points to the running back position.
What is Sony Michel’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 7?
After a slow start, running back Sony Michel has put together a pair of solid efforts in back-to-back games. In Week 6, he rushed for 86 yards and caught two passes for 27 yards to finish Thursday Night Football with 13.63 DKFP. It was a step back after 20+ DKFP in Week 5, but it marked his first time with double digit points in two straight games.
The Patriots go from TNF Showdown against a New Jersey team in Week 6 to MNF Showdown against a New Jersey team in Week 7. They travel to face the New York Jets, and we’ll be waiting for his price. The Jets are decent against the run, nut not great. That being said, given the Patriots mixing and matching of running backs, it’s hard to justify Michel for the time being.
What is Sony Michel’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 6?
It has been an inconsistent season for Sony Michel, but the Patriots running back broke out in Week 5 against Washington. He rushed 16 times for 91 yards and a touchdown, and added three receptions for 32 yards to finish with 21.3 DKFP.
The Patriots host the New York Giants on a short week in Week 6, and Thursday Night Football could offer Michel another favorable game script. The Patriots should thump the Giants, and with Rex Burkhead banged up, Michel could be worth a look at a Showdown price of $11,400. He’s the sixth most expensive player, but Saquon Barkley won’t play, so he’s the most expensive running back. James White might retain more value for his work in the passing game, but the game script could favor Michel.
What is Sony Michel’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 5?
It’s been a pretty miserable season for Patriots running back Sony Michel. The Patriots winning, but it’s not because of Michel. In Week 4, he managed 63 rushing yards, but only averaged 3.7 yards per reception — finishing with 6.3 DKFP. James White returned to action and he and Rex Burkhead are going to remain the primary passing down options. Considering the importance of points per reception, it further depresses Michel’s value.
The Patriots travel to face an atrocious Washington squad, which seemingly offers a game script in Michel’s favor. His DraftKings price remains the same at $5,500, but it’s hard to justify sticking with him — especially with White at the same price and Burkhead at $4,400. Realistically, you should probably just pass on Patriots running backs.
What is Sony Michel’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 4?
The Patriots had no trouble with the Jets in Week 3, beating them 30-14. It looked like Sony Michel would have a big day, as he ran in a five-yard touchdown on the Patriots opening drive. However, things never clicked after that and Michel finished with 7.1 DKFP courtesy of 11 rushing yards and the touchdown. He was targeted once in the passing game, but Rex Burkhead ended up with more rushing attempts to go with more targets.
New England travels to face the undefeated Bills in Week 4, and Michel’s salary has gone down $500 to $5,500. The Bills rush defense has struggled a bit to date, but even if they continue to struggle, expectations should remain low for Michel. He’s averaging 2.4 yards per carry through three weeks, and while he has found the end zone twice, he’s losing touches to a committee of backs.
What is Sony Michel’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 3?
The Patriots rolled the Dolphins in Week 2 as expected, and Sony Michel got a sizable workload to run out the clock. He finished with 21 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown. Rex Burkhead and James White had eight carries combined, but they remain primarily passing game options.
Michel’s salary increased $100 in Week 3, up to $6,000, as the Patriots host the Jets. It’s another matchup that could turn into a blowout, thus boding well for Michel’s chances at a big performance.
What is Sony Michel’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 2?
The Patriots blasted the Steelers in Week 1, but Sony Michel had a miserable performance. He rushed 15 times for 14 yards and did not have a role as a pass catcher. Rex Burkhead and James White ended up the more effective rushers, combining for 70 yards on 12 carries. Considering both are viewed as pass catchers first, that was a curious development.
DraftKings bumped Michel’s price up $300 to $6,200, and it is entirely because of the matchup. The Patriots travel to face an atrocious Dolphins team that was beaten 59-10 and gave up 107 yards to Mark Ingram. Whether the Patriots are winning big or not, Michel should have a much better game than he did in Week 1. White or Burkhead would seem to hold more value for the time being if you had to take a Patriots running back.
Sony Michel 2019 fantasy football preview
The Patriots’ backfield is always a risky proposition but it seems that there might be more clarity in 2019 than we’ve seen in the past. After a strong training camp and preseason — one in which reports have said he’s vastly improved his pass catching ability — it seems Sony Michel enters the year as New England’s unencumbered starting running back.
Michel will look to build upon a solid rookie season where he rushed for 931 yards and six touchdowns on 209 carries and caught only seven balls for 50 yards. Michel managed to finished the year as the RB25 despite playing in only 13 games and starting in eight of them.
With a full offseason under his belt, the starting gig locked down, and the Patriots’ very favorable schedule this season, the stage is set for Michel to thrust himself into the elite fantasy running backs.
What is Sony Michel’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 1?
Michel enters Week 1 with a price tag of $5,900 on DraftKings. He currently is the 16th most expensive running back, which is quite a discount if you ask me. The Patriots open their season Sunday night at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a game that’s sure to be intense. The Steelers allowed the sixth fewest points to fantasy backs last year, however they did give up the seventh most rushing touchdowns (12). The Patriots love to run the ball in the red zone and in a presumed high scoring game, Michel could be in for a lot of action.
