Tarik Cohen fantasy football updates for Week 13

Tarik Cohen isn’t the primary rusher in Chicago, but he is one of the fastest players in the league, and is a unique threat in space. We’re tracking his fantasy salary, performances, and news updates throughout the season.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 13?

Cohen’s touchdown streak came to an end in Week 12, but he was able to lead the team in rushing with 25 yards and in receptions going 7/29. Cohen’s on the Thanksgiving Day contests this week and he’ll cost a season high $5,000 for his game against the Detroit Lions. His receptions do provide somewhat of a floor, but he is hard to trust giving his lack of yardage.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 12?

Tarik Cohen totaled 74 yards on 14 touches with a 14 yard TD reception. Cohen outplayed a hobbled David Montgomery and was one of the few bright spots in an anemic Chicago Bears offense. Cohen faces the New York Giants in Week 12 and with Mitchell Trubisky leaving the Week 11 game early we’ll have to monitor the quarterback situation.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 11?

Tarik Cohen ended his touchdown drought in Week 10 but otherwise only totaled 37 combined yards and four receptions. Cohen, in true Cohen fashion, scored on a short reception while David Montgomery continued to take the bulk of the rushing attempts.

The Chicago Bears head to Los Angeles to play the Rams on Sunday Night football. That will be a tough game for Cohen, but perhaps the Bears offense is starting to find a groove? Cohen is $4,400 in the DraftKings 13-game Sun-Mon contests. That’s up $200 from last week. Perhaps this is due to David Montgomery being questionable for the game. If the Bears’ lead back is limited or unavailable one would imagine Cohen gets more touches. If you’re in the hunt for a running back around the same price who would be a safer bet for points you can roll with a revenge game when Frank Gore ($4,400) faces the Miami Dolphins. Miami’s defense may be better than you’d expect, but Gore is still getting work behind Devin Singletary and he could still be the goal line back.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 10?

For a second there it seemed as if Tarik Cohen had himself a 1-yard touchdown run. It was not to be as the call was overturned after review. David Montgomery would then find the end zone twice on Sunday while Cohen totaled 16 yards on 4 touches. The Chicago Bears offense isn’t supporting two usable running backs and Cohen is doing absolutely nothing with his opportunities after the catch.

The Detroit Lions are up next for the Bears and Tarik Cohen ($4,200) matches his season low in price for Week 10. The Lions are a great match-up for most teams, but the Bears offense isn’t reliable. It does seem like you can rely on Mark Walton’s ($4,300) workload and he will likely be a better investment on Sunday. You could even save $200 and hope that Frank Gore ($4,000) gets a touchdown.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 9?

Cohen continued to find most of his work in the passing game in Week 8, catching 3 passes for 34 yards (one going for 31 yards). He also added 9 yards in rushing on four attempts. Starting running back, David Montgomery, finally put up a worthwhile fantasy performance so it’s unlikely Cohen rushing role significantly increases anytime soon.

Tarik Cohen ($4,200) faces a tough Philadelphia Eagles defense in Week 9. The drop in his price reflects just how difficult a date with the Eagles can be. With the Bears offense playing poorly and with Mitch Trubisky on the hot seat it’s best to avoid Cohen in most situations. Frank Gore ($4,300) is also losing work but has a much better match up against Washington if you need a cheap running back alternative.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 8?

Tarik Cohen set a season-high for receptions (9) but was only able to gain 19 yards against a tough New Orleans Saints defense as the Bears played from behind most of the contest. He also added 10 yards on 3 rush attempts. Cohen continues to be an ancillary weapon on a poor offense. David Montgomery didn’t see as much action, but this isn’t an offense that can support two fantasy worthy running backs. Thus far it isn’t an offense that can even support one reliable rusher.

The Chicago Bears play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8. The Chargers are a middle of the pack run defense team, but James Conner was able to hurt them as a receiver a few weeks back. Tarik Cohen is priced at ($4,700). There are always safer options in this price range. Carlos Hyde ($4,700) is the better bet for a touchdown and usually receives more touches. You could also pay a little extra for Ty Johnson ($4,900) if Kerryon Johnson is unable to play.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 7?

Tarik Cohen and the Chicago Bears were on bye in Week 6. This week, Tarik Cohen’s price is $4,600. This is consistent with his pricing prior to the bye. The Bears play the New Orleans Saints who are pretty tough against the run and pass catching backs. Furthermore, we are currently unsure who will get the start for the Bears at quarterback, but Chase Daniel did seem more willing to check passes down to Cohen. If you need a running back who may be a safer play you can pay the extra $100 for Carlos Hyde ($4,700) or go for the RB2 gusto and draft Josh Jacobs ($5,000) who has been playing extremely well.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 6?

In Week 5, Tarik Cohen saved his fantasy day with a 71-yard punt return. He also added 10 rushing yards, 6 receptions and 39 receiving yards. It was great to see him involved in the passing game again, but we’ll have to wait to see if the trend continues in Week 7 when the Chicago Bears return from their bye week. It is important to note the Bear’s backup quarterback, Chase Daniels, seems more willing to get the ball to Cohen. Mitch Trubisky is dealing with a dislocated shoulder, but could return in Week 7

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 5?

Tarik Cohen didn’t see his usage go up much in Week 4, but he did find his first touchdown of the season. The score saved his fantasy day as Cohen once again failed to rush for over 20 yards. He did get 5 targets, catching 2 with one going for a ten-yard touchdown. The Minnesota Vikings are a good defense, so it wasn’t surprising to see Cohen struggle, especially after Mitchell Trubisky went down.

Week 5 brings perhaps the best defensive matchup for the Chicago Bears so far this season as they travel to play the Oakland Raiders. Cohen’s price ($4,800) is a $200 bump up from last week and we’ll need to monitor Trubisky’s progress throughout the week. If you want to try someone who might be a bit safer you can acquire Phillip Lindsay for ($4,900) or dip down to Frank Gore ($4,700) who has been a decent value play while Devin Singletary has been sidelined.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 4?

It was a rough Week 3 for Cohen. He finished Monday Night Football with negative two rushing yards on four carries and 26 receiving yards on two receptions. He finished the game with 7.27 DKFP.

Facing a very good Minnesota Vikings defense in Week 4, Tarik Cohen’s new salary is $4,600. The trouble with Cohen is that is role in the offense is so fluid it is hard to figure how much usage he’ll receive any given week. He’s priced in the same range as Wayne Gallman who is sure to be a highly utilized in DFS contests this week. You can also save a little by going with running backs who have more clearly defined roles like Frank Gore ($4,400) or Chris Thompson ($4,500).

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 3?

The Chicago Bears got the win in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos, but Tarik Cohen was not a big reason for their success. Though Cohen did register his first rushing attempts of the season he only totaled 18 yards on the ground and adding another 7 yards through the air on two receptions. David Montgomery led the way for the Bears rushers and Cohen was not targeted as heavily with Anthony Miller healthy and resuming his role as slot receiver.

The Bears are facing Washington on Monday Night Football. This is a Showdown matchup and prices will not be available until later in the week. We’ll update as soon as we have the price. Just know that Tarik Cohen’s role in this offense is difficult to nail down. He’s a very fast player that can make any touch count and the Washington defense isn’t an elite unit. Darren Sproles has a comparable skillset to Cohen and he had some success against the Washington defense in week 1. David Montgomery is the early down back in Chicago and the offense is tied to Mitch Trubisky so there are many reasons for concern to play Cohen in Week 3 in daily fantasy.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 2?

In a disappointing night for the Chicago Bears offense, Tarik Cohen didn’t register an official rushing attempt in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. He did haul in 8 receptions for a modest 49 yards receiving. With David Montgomery and Mike Davis handling most of the rushing work, Cohen may have to make his hay in the passing game for the time being.

Cohen’s Week 2 price ($4,500) puts him in the same neighborhood with other ancillary weapons like Phillip Lindsay, Kenyon Drake and Justin Jackson. The Bears will travel to Denver for Week 2. It remains to be seen if Cohen will operate more as a slot receiver rather than a traditional rusher. He also fielded a few punts in Week 1 and a player like Cohen has the speed to take any touch to the house. The big question is if the Mitch Trubisky can get the Chicago offense on track. Trubisky did target Cohen 10 times in Week 1 so there seems to be some trust there and Tarik could be a relatively safe FLEX play.

Tarik Cohen 2019 fantasy football preview

The Chicago Bears look to repeat as division champions in 2019. Their 2-down back from last season, Jordan Howard, is now in Philadelphia and the team added the talented rookie rusher, David Montgomery. Depending on the scoring format, Cohen finished somewhere in the top 20 of running backs in 2018. Tarik Cohen isn’t an early down back so the addition of Montgomery shouldn’t be too troubling for his fantasy value. If his young QB can improve Cohen should once again be one of the best values in fantasy at his position.

Cohen earned more opportunities after a promising rookie campaign in 2017. His 2018 rushing numbers remained modest but Tarik did finish with over 1100 total yards, 71 receptions and 8 total touchdowns. Not too shabby.

Tarik will continue to be an “offensive weapon” in Chicago though it may be difficult for him to generate 91 targets again in 2019. 2nd year wide receiver Anthony Miller should take on a larger role and some of his rushing work could go to the serviceable veteran back Mike Davis. Despite not knowing exactly how his role will evolve, Cohen is a special player and if the Bears are slightly more efficient on offense then Tarik should once again finish in the top 20 running backs.

What is Tarik Cohen’s fantasy football status, DFS price for Week 1?

Cohen enters Week 1 with a salary of $12,600 for the Thursday night Showdown Draft Kings game and $4800 for the Thursday - Monday set where he ranks 6th behind both starting quarterbacks, wide receivers Davante Adams and Allen Robinson and running back Aaron Jones. For the Thursday - Monday set he priced around similar pass catching backs like Tevin Coleman and James White. All are reliable FLEX plays the first week of the season.
