An exciting opening week of the NFL season brought some surprises for wide receivers in fantasy football. Not many would have guessed Jamison Crowder would lead in targets and receptions, but that is exactly where we stand. Danny Amendola also opened eyes with a 13 target, seven-reception debut for the Detroit Lions. On the other end of the spectrum, fantasy players were disappointed if they started Davante Adams or Jarvis Landry in hopes their days would be boosted by a steady diet of targets.
Thankfully, Tyreek Hill was the only major injury coming out of week 1. He will likely miss multiple weeks with a chest injury, but he should avoid Injured Reserve. Mike Williams left Sunday’s game early with a knee injury and A.J. Green was an early scratch in Week 1 which isn’t a good sign for his Week 2 availability.
If your Draft Kings lineup needs some high volume receiving options there are a few options with good matchups in Week 2. Jarvis Landry faces the NY Jets secondary. This could be a nice bounce back spot for Landry as Baker Mayfield looks to erase the memory of his woeful Week 1 performance. The Baltimore Ravens will be without their top cornerback Jimmy Smith for a few weeks which could mean good things for Larry Fitzgerald if Kyler Murray can keep the offense moving.
