How to handle Greg Olsen injury in Week 2 fantasy football

Wait, wasn’t Greg Olsen retired? You can be forgiven if you thought he was. The 34-year-old tight end decided to play this season instead of sit in the broadcast booth. Now, he’s dealing with back injury and has been listed as questionable for this week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Last week, the Panthers targeted him nine times, the third most of any receiver on the team. He managed to catch four of those balls for a total of 36 yards. The long-time Panthers tight end looked slow, though. He maybe ought to be thinking about that career on television, because at this rate, a full season seems impossible for him.

Olsen hasn’t practiced all week. With a Thursday night game, that leaves his status in doubt. He did say that he plans to play, but even if he is suited up, it’s hard to see him having much impact dealing with a back injury on a short week.

Fantasy Impact: It’s going to be hard for Olsen to do much this week if he does play, which seems unlikely. Even if he is ostensibly healthy, you can probably find better options for your lineups.
