The fantasy football tight end scene is as hard to predict as any position in the game. It was nice to see Travis Kelce finish as one of five tight ends with at least 100 yards receiving or two touchdowns. However, George Kittle and Zach Ertz have no touchdowns two weeks in, while players like Mark Andrews and Vance McDonald have multiple trips to the end zone. Hopefully, Week 3 brings better results for Kittle and Ertz.
On the injury front, Jordan Reed remained sidelined in Week 2 with a concussion and David Njoku exited his Monday night game with the same issue. You’ll want to track both players on the injury reports this week. It would also be understandable if you wanted to downgrade the tight ends in New Orleans and Pittsburgh with the injuries to Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger.
Week 3 features a few games that could feature good opportunities for tight ends. If Cam Newton isn’t sidelined by his foot injury then Greg Olsen is in a potentially good spot against the Arizona Cardinals. Speaking of old dudes, Jason Witten is back and he isn’t a bad play against a Miami Dolphins team that is in ruins.
