We are two weeks through the fantasy football season and Austin Ekeler is a top three running back. These are strange times. While there are some crazy things going down among rushers in the NFL there are still a few guys you can depend on week to week. It wouldn’t be fantasy if we didn’t have our share of mysteries like is Carlos Hyde an every week starter and can the San Francisco support two fantasy running backs consistently?
The injury bug was fairly quiet in Week 2. Josh Jacobs came up with a groin issue, but it doesn’t appear it will keep him out. You’ll have to watch the practice reports for both LeSean McCoy and Damien Williams throughout the week. If neither can play then that would be a huge opportunity for the highly touted rookie Darwin Thompson.
In Week 3, we will look for the elite runners to keep pushing the pace as Ezekiel Elliot has a terrific matchup against the Miami Dolphins and Dalvin Cook faces Oakland at home. Even early surprise, Mark Ingram, is in a good position to deliver when the Baltimore Ravens travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs.
