The Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars square off on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 3. Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota will be getting the start after showing up on the early week injury report.
The Titans did not practice on Monday, but in their simulated report, he was listed as a DNP with a quadricep injury. Mariota was a full participant on Tuesday and Wednesday, and reports from the team said the injury was not considered serious.
Fantasy implications: Mariota got off to a big start in the Titans romp over the Cleveland Browns, throwing for 248 yards with three touchdowns and scrambling for 24 yards. A week later, the Titans lost a tight one to the Indianapolis Colts, and Mariota took a step back — throwing for 154 yards and a touchdown and scrambling for 32 yards.
The Jaguars were thrashed by Patrick Mahomes in Week 1 (378 yards, 3 TDs), and contained DeShaun Watson in Week 2 (159 yards, no TDs). This looks like a short-week defensive battle, and likely will be all about the ground games getting anything going. Mariota has some upside in the right matchup, but this isn’t it.
