The Sunday kickoffs for Week 3 are almost here, and it’s time to start plotting out your Week 3 DFS lineups. In Week 2, a lot of the usual suspects dominated, but we had some under-the-radar names step up in a big way to key folks to victory.
Obviously, you would love to fill your daily lineup with Pro-Bowlers from top to bottom, but spending money on a top-tier player in one spot leaves you potentially scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.
So here are three running backs that could provide the best value for Week 3. (Values from Draft Kings.)

Ezekiel Elliott (DAL) - $8,900
This one might come as a bit of a surprise considering Elliott is the second-most expensive running back in daily fantasy this week behind only Saquon Barkley, but it is the matchup here that makes Elliott intriguing. The Dallas Cowboys are set to square off against the lowly Miami Dolphins (who have switched to Josh Rosen at quarterback for the first time this season), and it’s likely Elliott will be leaned on early to get the Cowboys a lead, and then leaned on again late to grind out the clock.
Todd Gurley (LAR) - $6,700
We are finally at a point where Todd Gurley’s prior performance has created solid value for the upcoming DFS week. On paper, Gurley has a favorable matchup against a Cleveland Browns defense that has struggled at times defending the run. Sean McVay will eventually get Todd Gurley going, and Week 3 against the Browns is likely when it starts.
Devonta Freeman (ATL) - $4,900
Speaking of prior poor performance, look no further than Devonta Freeman of the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons offense took a big step forward last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, but Freeman has yet to really shine through the season’s first two weeks. In Week 3, he faces off against the Indianapolis Colts and the 31st ranked rush defense, so look for a rebound in Atlanta’s rushing attack this week. Freeman’s DFS value will likely never be any lower.
