How to handle DeSean Jackson injury in Week 3 fantasy football

The Eagles receiver is out this week. So how does that impact your fantasy decisions?

The Philadelphia Eagles will not have DeSean Jackson when they host the Detroit Lions this week. They might not have him next week for a Thursday night matchup against the Packers either.

Jackson is dealing with an injured abdomen. He initially suffered the injury last week against the Falcons, leaving the game in the first quarter with no targets whatsoever. The short week after this game doesn’t give him much time to recover, and at least one report made it sound like the Eagles would be lucky if they had him back in Week 4.

It’s too bad. Not only could the Eagles really use him in a lineup that’s been hit pretty hard with injuries to its pass catchers, Jackson got off to a great start to the season. He caught the ball eight times for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Washington in Week 1.

If he misses next week’s game too, that puts him on track to return in Week 5 against the Jets. That could be a very nice matchup, so hang onto him if he’s still on your bench.

Fantasy impact: For this week, the Eagles may be forced to lean on Nelson Agholor again, especially with Alshon Jeffrey’s status officially questionable.
