What to do with Tarik Cohen in Week 3 fantasy football

Tarik Cohen hasn’t had much work in a stalled out Bears offense. Will that change this week against Washington?

Remember when the Chicago Bears offense was kind of exciting ... all the way back in 2018? It hasn’t lived up to the hype this season, and it’s been especially rough on running back Tarik Cohen’s fantasy value.

Through two games this season Cohen has a grand total of 18 rushing yards and 56 receiving yards. No touchdowns. We knew his value would be somewhat limited after the team made it a priority to draft David Montgomery this year, but these production numbers defy the most cynical projection from just a couple weeks ago.

Part of the problem is a Bears offense that has yet to top 20 points in a single game. Only two teams are worse at scoring points right now. Montgomery has the only offensive touchdown the team has scored all season so far.

Cohen is getting most of his work as a receiver, leading the team with eight catches in its Week 1 loss to the Packers. He worked mostly out of the slot in that one.

Fantasy impact: The good news for the Bears is that Washington bleeds points, giving up a total of 63 so far this season. However, we just don’t have a clear enough picture of what this Bears offense is going to be, much less Cohen’s place in it.
