The Cincinnati Bengals are on the road in Week 4, facing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. I don’t think many of us would have predicted the two teams would be winless at this point, but injuries have ravaged both squads. The Steelers lost Ben Roethlisberger to an elbow injury, and A.J. Green has been sidelined two months with an ankle injury.
It’s been a rough year on both sides of the ball for Cincinnati, and emerging running back Joe Mixon has not been immune from the struggles. Mixon has 87 rushing yards this season, averaging 2.7 per carry. He showed some progress in Week 3, with 60 yards (four per carry) against a solid Buffalo Bills defense, but he has yet to have that breakout game.
Fantasy analysis: Mixon gets a great matchup in Week 4, with the Steelers defense struggling and giving up the fourth most fantasy points to running backs. The Bengals have gotten big production from John Ross and Tyler Boyd, but if they’re going to get in the win column, they’ll need Mixon to get going. If he can’t break out against this shaky Bengals defense, it might be time to remove must-start from his status.
