The Detroit Lions are in a dog-fight with the Kansas City Chiefs, but they suffered a tough loss in the third quarter. Standout rookie tight end T.J. Hockenson suffered an injury when he tried to leap a defender after catching the ball. In this video, we see him hit his head as he came down after being spun around. He was able to get up walk to a cart with the trainers before heading to the locker room. He is being evaluated for a concussion, per Lions PR, and has been formally ruled out for the rest of the game.

Fantasy analysis: The hurdle has become a popular attempt this season, but it puts players in an incredibly awkward position. Football is tough enough when you’ve got both feet on the ground, but given the speed and power involved, when a player is in the air, they’re entirely defenseless.

Hockenson had three receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown when he went down with the injury. The Iowa product had struggled the past two weeks after a record-setting debut (nine receptions, 131 yards, touchdown). If he has a concussion, he will spend this week in the concussion protocol.
