Free Aaron Jones! The prayers of fantasy players prayers could be answered this season after Jones was seen as under/misused by the former coaching staff in Green Bay. While Jones is largely considered the better rusher, Jamaal Williams remains in Green Bay and is better at pass protection. This backfield should once again be a platoon, but Jones is the more dynamic back and repeating his nine touchdown 2018 season isn’t a ludicrous proposition.
Fantasy Outlook
Aaron enters his third year with new coaches but it’s the same talent-loaded offense. He battled a hamstring injury during training camp, but was removed from the injury report Wednesday. Green Bay starts the season Thursday night against the Chicago Bears who gave up the second fewest fantasy points to opposing rushers in 2018. Chicago has the talent to finish as a top defense again and Jones only had four carries against this defense in 2018 so it’s hard to say how he may be employed against the Bears. It could be a week or two before we see Aaron Jones’ really get to show his stuff, but his 2019 outlook is bright.
