It’s always a little disappointing not to see the game’s biggest stars playing in meaningless preseason games, but it does at least make for a real short Week 1 injury report.
Nevertheless, there are some injury situations that need to be on your radar as you make lineup decisions this week. Receivers are the most hard-hit position group. We don’t know for certain whether or not the Vikings will have Stefon Diggs active this week against the Falcons. Head coach Mike Zimmer said “we’ll see” when asked if Diggs will play. He was limited in practice Thursday and Friday, but he was at least practicing.
Ravens rookie Marquise Brown will play this week after sitting out Friday’s practice with a foot injury. Bucs receiver Mike Evans came down with a stomach bug late this week, but he’s expected to be in the lineup this week. Albert Wilson, this week’s sneaky waiver wire pick, is likely to play, too. A.J. Green is still in a walking boot, and it might be a long time before he sees the field this season.
Washington tight end Jordan Reed, a regular presence on the injury report, still hasn’t been cleared for contact and won’t play this week.
Here’s the full injury report for skill position players:
