Betting split update: The DraftKings Sportsbook betting public is backing Georgia in a big way in the Sugar Bowl. The Bulldogs are a four-point favorite on game day after the line opened at 7.5. 73 percent of the handle and 78 percent of the tickets bet on the point spread are backing Georgias.
In the final game of New Year’s Day, the Georgia Bulldogs will square off with the Baylor Bears in the Sugar Bowl.
This was certainly not the season Georgia was looking for, especially on offense where the Bulldogs looked lost all season long. Jake Fromm came in as a potential Heisman winner and completed less than 50% of his passes in each of the last five games of the season. Georgia got away with winning ugly all year long for the most part right up until it matched up with LSU and got blown out.
On the other side, what a season for Baylor. From going from one win two years ago to being an overtime away from advancing to the College Football Playoff. Quarterback Charlie Brewer will return for this game after being knocked out of the Big 12 title game with a concussion. The Bears have been one of the best stories in college football in 2019.
Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming
The Allstate Sugar Bowl will begin at 8:45 p.m. ET in New Orleans, Louisiana on Wednesday, Jan. 1 and can be seen on ESPN and streamed on WatchESPN.

The Best Bet
Georgia is the more talented team, but the motivation factor favors Baylor. I’m not confident at all in either team covering this spread, but I’ll stick with what the trends tell us. The strengths in this game come on the defensive side of the ball, so I’m going with the under. Yes it’s tough to go with the under on a total this low, but it’ll be worth it after a 60-minute sweat.
Pick: Under 41.5
