NBA DFS Picks: Top targets at each position on DraftKings on Jan. 10

We go over some core plays at each position for Friday’s main 10-game slate on DraftKings.

We close out the work week with a 10-game main slate in the NBA on DraftKings. In this article, we’ll highlight some core plays to consider at each position, plus a few additional options to keep in mind as you build your DFS lineups.

Point Guard

Trae Young, ATL @ WAS, $10,400 — For this price and matchup, it’s going to be hard to fade Young on tonight’s slate. He’s got the best matchup in the NBA against the Washington Wizards, who are allowing 120.2 points per game this season. Young is coming off an insane 40-point triple-double vs. the Houston Rockets and his price still isn’t at its highest point all season. This game should be very high scoring if DK Sportsbook is any indication (237.5 O/U) and that’s perfect for a player like Young. I’d consider him the top PG GPP play overall.

Other Options: Lou Williams, LAC vs. GSW, $7,400; Ish Smith, WAS vs. ATL, $5,700

Shooting Guard

DeMar DeRozan, SAS @ MEM, $7,200 DeRozan might be the hottest fantasy basketball player on the planet right now — at least from a consistency standpoint. He’s scored at least 34.25 fantasy points in each of his past eight games. DeRozan has at least 21 points in nine straight. During that stretch, he’s averaging 26.2 points, 5.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and a steal while shooting 64.1 percent from the field. There’s a lot to like about this matchup vs. the Memphis Grizzlies as well. The O/U is set at 230, which is second on the slate. The Grizz play at a fast pace and DeRozan dropped 51.25 FPTS on them in their previous meeting.

Other Options: Spencer Dinwiddie, BKN vs. MIA, $7,400; Khris Middleton, MIL @ SAC, $7,000

Small Forward

Brandon Ingram, NOP @ NYK, $9,200 — I’m going to ride Ingram tonight — these were the exact words I muttered on The Sweat on DK Live this morning. I had Ingram as my top play the other night vs. the Chicago Bulls and he came through with 61.5 FPTS. This matchup vs. the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden is even better and Ingram’s price still hasn’t been adjusted to his minutes and usage lately. Jrue Holiday (elbow) is expected to be out again, so Ingram is my top GPP play for tonight. The MSG narrative is real and the Knicks could be without Marcus Morris again.

Other Options: Kawhi Leonard, LAC vs. GSW, $9,900; Evan Fournier, ORL @ PHX, $6,100

Power Forward

Montrezl Harrell, LAC vs. GSW, $6,700 — This price is way too low on Harrell vs. the Golden State Warriors at home. Paul George is listed as out for tonight due to a hamstring injury. Harrell should see more minutes off the bench and this matchup is fantastic — the Dubs rank 24th in FG% and 21st in rebounds allowed to opponents per game. They lack interior defenders outside of Draymond Green, but there could be scenarios in which Doc Rivers gets Harrell out there in the best spot to succeed. Harrell has been on a warpath recently with a combined 85 points the past three games.

Other Options: John Collins, ATL @ WAS, $8,500; LaMarcus Aldridge, SAS @ MEM, $7,400

Center

Dwight Howard, LAL @ DAL, $5,600 — This is a high price on Howard but I want to take advantage of the fact Anthony Davis (glute) will likely be sidelined tonight vs. the Dallas Mavericks. That, coupled with the fact the Mavs are without Kristaps Porzingis means Howard should see more minutes against weaker competition. Dwight has back-to-back 30+ point fantasy outings and he scored 15 points on Dallas a few weeks ago. Again, not crazy about the price here, but I imagine Howard goes overlooked on a 10-game slate.

Other Options: Nikola Vucevic, ORL @ PHX, $8,800; Rudy Gobert, UTA vs. CHA, $8,600
