The hamstring of Clyde Edwards-Helaire was a topic of discussion leading into the LSU Tigers semifinal game against the Oklahoma Sooners. With the Tigers absolutely putting a beat down on the Sooners, Edwards-Helaire did not see the field much, receiving two carries for 14 yards. Before the game, he announced he felt 100% ready for the national title game after the added rest.
With Heisman teammate Joe Burrow taking all the headlines, Edwards-Helaire put himself among the best running backs in college football. He rushed for 1,304 yards and 16 touchdowns this season and is a force receiving the ball with 50 catches for 399 yards and another touchdown. He will be a big factor for LSU winning a national title.
