Bobby Portis is one of the New York Knicks’ many options at power forward. The team acquired him alongside Julius Randle and Marcus Morris over the offseason. Despite how crowded the Knicks’ frontcourt has become, Portis has put together some impressive performances. The only problem with Portis is the inconsistency of his minutes. On some nights he can play between 20 to 30 minutes. On others he might log six or seven. But the trade deadline could open up room for him to flourish.
Why you should trade for Bobby Portis in fantasy basketball
Morris plays small forward and power forward and is one of the hottest targets on the trade market. New York should definitely be tempted to move him. If Morris is dealt, Portis would claim the majority of the backup power forward minutes while spending some time at center occasionally as well. New York will be a worse team without Morris, so Portis could rack up points in garbage time during blowouts.
