UPDATE: Jan. 17, 1:06 p.m. — Herro went through shootaround Thursday morning and is a game-time decision for Friday’s contest vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Miami Heat rookie guard Tyler Herro has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game vs. the San Antonio Spurs.

Herro bruised his knee during practice Tuesday and will be held out — seemingly as a precaution, considering it’s just a contusion. The rookie had been playing 20+ minutes consistently for the Heat, so Miami will need to lean on its other guards to pick up the slack and 3-point shooting.

Fantasy Basketball Analysis: Miami Heat G Tyler Herro

With Herro out, Kendrick Nunn, Duncan Robinson and Derrick Jones Jr. should all see more minutes at shooting guard in a strong matchup vs. the Spurs. Nunn ($5,100) and Robinson ($4,300) are the most appealing plays. The Heat should have an easy time with the Spurs at home, so if the game gets out of hand, both Robinson and Nunn will get plenty of run in garbage time.
