Who to play of Davante Adams vs. Deebo Samuel vs. Emmanuel Sanders in NFC title game

Which wide receiver is most likely to come up big in the NFC championship game?

The Green Bay Packers head west this weekend for a match-up in San Francisco with the 49ers. Each team has demonstrated highly effective pass attacks at certain points in the season. Which team is most likely to attack through the air this weekend, and which wide receiver will be the biggest threat to their opponent and, therefore, the biggest asset to your DFS line-ups? We break down the fantasy implications below.

Fantasy football advice: : 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel

Deebo Samuel failed to make a splash in the Divisional round as he had only three receptions for 42 yards, resulting in 7.2 fantasy points on the day. This was his second lowest scoring total since Week 10 and it came in a game where the 49ers did not have to pass often, as they held a lead for most of the game.

The good news that comes from this poor performance is that Samuel now comes at a relatively low price of $5,500 in Classic contests and $7,400 (Flex)/$11,100 (Captain) in Showdown Captain mode. Deebo has big play capability and is a large bodied receiver who makes a great target in the end zone. If the 49ers fall behind and need a big play or two to get back in the game, he’s the guy they will look for. He’s shown that he is reliable and should be able to get the job done against a Green Bay defense that allowed an average of 232 passing yards/game during the regular season.

Fantasy football advice: : 49ers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders

Emmanuel Sanders comes at a low price of $4,900 in Classic contests this weekend and $10,200 (Captain)/$6,800 (Flex) in Showdown Captain mode. This low price may be reflective of his recent performances, as Sanders has been relatively quiet lately. He has failed to reach double digit fantasy points since exploding for 37 points against the Saints in a Week 14 shootout. He has not had more than three receptions in a game since then. Sanders is unlikely to be a top scorer at the position this weekend, but may provide a decent floor if you’re looking for value.

Fantasy football advice:: Packers wide receiver, Davante Adams

It’s been no secret all season that Davante Adams is the favorite target of Aaron Rodgers. Despite this widely known fact, teams have still struggled to shut down the connection between these two NFL stars. Adams came up big in the Divisional round with eight receptions for 160 yards and two touchdowns. He totaled a season high 39.0 fantasy points in that game. His price tag reflects this performance as he will cost $7,900 in Classic contests and $11,400 (flex)/ $17,100 (captain) in Showdown Captain Mode. He is likely to play just as big of a role this weekend, especially if Allen Lazard struggles to be fully healthy by Sunday.

Adams is the highest priced wide receiver by $700 this weekend. He will see plenty of targets, but receptions will be harder to come by with the 49ers pass defense likely focusing most of their attention on shutting him down. Keep in mind, they have allowed an average of only 169 pass yards/game on the season. He is certainly the most talented wide receiver available for your roster, but he may come at too high of a price to be worth it. There is likely better value in other receivers.

Start/Sit Advice:

Start Deebo Samuel over Adams and Sanders in all line-ups

Start Deebo Samuel in Classic Contests and Flex him in Showdown Captain mode line-ups; Make him your Captain if looking for a value pick with upside

Start Davante Adams if you want to spend big on receivers in Classic contests; Flex Adams in Showdown Captain mode

Start Sanders as a high floor/low ceiling value play in Classic and Showdown Captain mode
