Who to play of Jonnu Smith vs. Travis Kelce

The Chiefs’ Travis Kelce has too much upside to not play against the Titans in the AFC title game. We break down the DFS matchup with Jonnu Smith.

The Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs will face one another in the AFC title game on Sunday. One side has one of the league’s best tight ends while the other has a much streakier option. Finding a healthy medium between value and and production can be essential to DFS success. We took a look at the what tight end options make sense in this Titans-Chiefs matchup.

The Chiefs’ Travis Kelce is fresh off an incredible performance. He tallied 10 receptions for 134 yards and three scores against the Houston Texans. He finished with 44.4 DKFP and looked as good as he has all season. The Titans’ Jonnu Smith notched 9.2 DKFP in his last outing and scored his first touchdown since Week 16.

Fantasy football analysis: Chiefs TE Travis Kelce, Titans TE Jonnu Smith

Kelce is well worth his price in classic ($7,100) as a flex ($11,000) in Showdown, or as a captain ($16,500). The 12 targets he received last game are more than Smith has totaled in his last four contests. Kelce also has more receptions is his last five games than Smith has all year. But that doesn’t mean smith doesn’t have value.

Smith is priced at $3,400 in the classic format and $4,400 as a flex in showdown. He has caught four touchdowns this year, but has been fairly limited in the playoffs until scoring in the Divisional round. Smith often makes plays when his number is called, but that doesn’t happen too often.

DFS Recommendation

If you only choose one, you should play Kelce. But Smith could be used as a sneaky value play in classic or Showdown.
