UPDATE: Jan. 22, 2:34 p.m. — Irving is being listed as probable to return to the lineup Thursday vs. the Los Angeles Lakers.

UPDATE: Jan. 20, 1:11 p.m. — Irving has been ruled out vs. the Sixers due to a hamstring injury. With Irving sidelined, Spencer Dinwiddie should start and becomes a very appealing fantasy option. Joe Harris ($3,800), Caris LeVert ($4,600) and Garrett Temple ($3,500) should also pick up some slack, but keep in mind this game could be low scoring and it may be worth fading the Nets outside of Dinwiddie.

Brooklyn Nets PG Kyrie Irving is questionable to play in Monday’s game vs. the Philadelphia 76ers. Irving is now dealing with a hamstring injury, which I guess is better news considering he missed most of this season with a shoulder impingement. The issue is the Sixers and Nets are set to play at 3:00 p.m. ET today, so there’s not much notice on Irving’s status.

Fantasy basketball analysis: Brooklyn Nets PG Kyrie Irving

So if Irving is held out, the Nets will very likely start Spencer Dinwiddie ($6,700), who we all remember for his heroics when Irving was out not too long ago. The Nets were propelled by Dinwiddie for most of the time Irving was dealing with the shoulder injury. If Kyrie is out, Dinwiddie is a decent chalk play, but this is a tough matchup vs. Ben Simmons and the Sixers, who are an above-average defensive team.

I’d get in on the spread being +1.5 for the Sixers while you still can. Even with Irving in the lineup, I love this line. The weird thing is that maybe Brooklyn will perform better without Irving? Normally I’d side with the narrative here, but that would be foolish. Philly is the play.
