UPDATE: Jan. 21, 6:00 p.m. — Jimmy Butler is probable to return to the lineup Wednesday vs. the Washington Wizards. Derrick Jones Jr., who got poked in both eyes Monday, started in place of Butler. With Jimmy back, he should jump right back into the starting 5 and is in a great spot against a poor Wizard defense.

Miami Heat G Jimmy Butler is dealing with a hip injury and won’t play on MLK Day against the Sacramento Kings. Butler hadn’t been mentioned on the injury report, so this is another surprise on the 14-game NBA slate. The Heat will have to operate without their best player against the Kings.

Fantasy Basketball analysis: Miami Heat G Jimmy Butler
A handful of guards get a nice boost with Butler sidelined. Goran Dragic ($5,300) and Kendrick Nunn ($5,800) I think are the biggest benefactors. Nunn should be more involved on offense and see more usage, while Dragic won’t play off the ball nearly as much. Bam Adebayo ($8,500) becomes an intriguing tournament play. He’s the Heat’s best player with Butler off the court and the Kings are thin in the frontcourt with Richaun Holmes out and Marvin Bagley banged up again.
