Team still says All-Star won’t return to lineup this season after rupturing his Achilles.

Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant isn’t expected to return this season after rupturing his Achilles last season. Coach Kenny Atkinson has confirmed the news throughout 2019-20, but Durant was at Nets practice on Wednesday getting some shots up. His jumper looks pretty good if you ask me.

Atkinson apparently told reporters there was no update on Durant despite the shots at practice. There’s really no reason for the Nets to try and force KD back into the lineup this season after signing him during the offseason to a massive four-year, $164.25 million deal in a sign-and-trade with the Warriors.

Kyrie Irving recently expressed his concern with the Nets roster and whether they have the personnel to win a championship around himself and KD. Perhaps pressure from Irving is forcing the Nets’ hand a bit? That likely isn’t the case, since there’s way too much invested in Durant long-term.
