The Milwaukee Bucks and Charlotte Hornets will face off in the first ever regular-season NBA game played in Paris, France. Giannis Antetokounmpo, AKA The Greek Freak, will bring his talents overseas and close to his native country, giving France a taste of some of the best basketball. The Bucks are first in the NBA at 39-6 entering this game, while the Hornets are just 15-30 and on a seven-game losing streak. While Charlotte isn’t playing great basketball, the Hornets do have ties to France in SF Nicolas Batum and former PG Tony Parker, who is majority owner of ASVEL Basket in the LNB Pro A, France’s top professional league.

Updated Bucks vs. Hornets Paris Game spread, moneyline, over/under

Spread: Hornets (+13.5)
Over/Under: 219
Moneyline: Hornets (+800), Bucks (-1115)

So initially this seems like a spot where we just continue to roll with the Bucks in what should be a blowout. Sure, we have to account for the fact that both teams needed to travel across the Atlantic Ocean to get to Paris, which has a negative impact on certain players. I’d imagine Giannis is used to this kind of thing being from Greece. At -13, the Bucks are a safe bet to cover. They’ve won seven in a row — four of which would have covered such a spread. Milwaukee has also had plenty of time off, having not played since Monday.

As for the rest of these lines, I’d imagine the UNDER will be popular given the game is in another country. As I mentioned before, usually players are impacted by jet lag and travel, plus it’s an unfamiliar court and atmosphere. Those factors aside, the Bucks are one of the top defensive teams in the NBA and the Hornets are poor offensively. I don’t see much value in taking the Hornets on the moneyline, plus the Bucks ML doesn’t offer us much either. I’d stick with the spread and O/U.
