Saturday’s NBA lineup will feature a five-game NBA slate. The action will start and end with playoff contenders, so there should be no lack of excitement.
The Dallas Mavericks will take on the Utah Jazz in the first game of the day. The Jazz are second in the Western Conference and have won three straight while Mike Conley eases back into the mix following a lengthy absence caused by a hamstring injury. The Mavericks are fifth in the standings and are actively looking to acquire help for Luka Doncic. They appear set to acquire Willie Cauley-Stein in an attempt to bolster their frontcourt. But that deal won’t be done in time to help them against Utah’s Rudy Gobert.
The last game of the night will be between the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers. Ben Simmons has taken control of Philadelphia while Joel Embiid recovers from a finger injury. Simmons will face his mentor LeBron James and the rest of his top-seeded Lakers team. Al Horford will likely be tasked with trying to contain Anthony Davis in this matchup. That’s a tall order for any player.
