Betting public loves AFC and the over in 2020 Pro Bowl

Rule changes could shake things up in the 2020 Pro Bowl.

The 2020 Pro Bowl kicks off in three hours, and the betting public thinks the AFC is going to win a shootout. DraftKings Sportsbook has the AFC installed as a 1.5-point favorite and the point total sitting at 52. 71 percent of the handle and 68 percent of the total bets are on the AFC. Meanwhile, 92 percent of the handle and 89 percent of total bets are on the point total going over.

The NFL implemented a rule change for this year’s Pro Bowl that allows teams a chance to go for a 4th and 15 play to get the ball back after a field goal. Considering there is nothing to play for but pride and a few extra bucks to the winner, we can expect a decent amount of these attempts after field goals. If they fail, the defending team starts with the ball deep in the opposing team’s territory.

Scoring has been down at the Pro Bowl in recent years, and this could swing things back to where we see a little more of a high scoring affair. I suspect that and the big names playing are both factoring into so much money being bet on the over.
