Super Bowl 54 is just around the corner and you may be struggling with tough decisions when finalizing your DraftKings daily fantasy football line-ups for the big day. We are here to help you with the difficult choices as we anticipate an exciting match up between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Each team has an arsenal of offensive weapons and we take a closer look at two of them below.
Fantasy Football Analysis: Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins
DraftKings Captain Salary:$10,500
DraftKings Flex Salary: $7000
FanDuel Salary:$10,500
Watkins made a splash in the AFC championship, as he punched in his second best performance of the season with seven receptions for 114 yards and one touchdown, totaling 27.4 points. Watkins saw double digit targets in that game for only the fourth time all season and for the first time since Week 9. The Chiefs were in catch-up mode for the second week in a row in that game, leading them to pass often. Mahomes threw 35 times that game with nearly one third of those targets sent in Watkins’ direction.
It’s unlikely we see this target share and volume two weeks in a row in an offense with so many weapons to choose from. Watkins always provides big play value and proved to have reliable hands last week, but the odds of a repeat performance are slim based off of his trends of inconsistent performances this season. Watkins’ price tag may be too high to make him worth an add to your line-ups this weekend.
Fantasy Football Analysis: San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel
DraftKings Captain Salary:$11,400
DraftKings Flex Salary: $7600
Fan Duel Salary:$8500
Deebo Samuel hasn’t had much opportunity for a big performance lately as it has been all about the run game for the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs. Jimmy Garoppolo has only thrown 27 passes over the past two games, leaving little room for this rookie to flourish. The Kansas City Chiefs have likely noticed the prowess of the 49ers run game and will attempt to devise a game plan that will prevent another massacre on the ground. This should lead to more passes from Jimmy Garoppolo, which should then translate to increased opportunity for Samuel.
Samuel has averaged 12.8 points per game over the course of the season, having his best stretch at the end of the regular season when he averaged 15.6 points per game in Weeks 13-17. Samuel is a big bodied receiver who makes a great end zone target, and he has speed which gives him big play ability as well. He comes as a good value for his current price.
Start/Sit Advice:
Start Deebo Samuel over Sammy Watkins as he has been more consistent over the course of the season and provides better value for his price.
