UPDATE: Clarke has been ruled out vs. the Pelicans. Solomon Hill will start in place of Jaren Jackson Jr., so at $3,000 Hill is a decent chalk value. I also like Jae Crowder at $4,500 on DK as a high-ceiling value that’s good for GPPs.

Memphis Grizzlies PF/C Brandon Clarke is doubtful to play in Friday night’s game vs. the New Orleans Pelicans due to hip soreness.

This is relatively upsetting news if you’re a fantasy basketball writer who recommended Clarke not only in his values article at $4,800, but also on a live streaming broadcast Friday morning. But hey, that’s show biz! Clarke doesn’t appear as if he’ll play, so with Jaren Jackson Jr. suspended, the Grizzlies have very few options in the front court.
Fantasy basketball analysis: Memphis Grizzlies PF/C Brandon Clarke
The Grizz will be down to Jonas Valanciunas ($6,300), Josh Jackson ($3,000) and Solomon Hill ($3,000) in the front court. I imagine Kyle Anderson ($3,800) may play some minutes at forward as well. SO we’ve got a lot of value to sift through. Initially, Jonas and Hill are the best options at different price ranges. Hill should start for Jackson next to Valanciunas in a a strong matchup. The Pels don’t run big lineups generally, plus it’s a revenge spot. I also like Jae Crowder ($4,500), who played nearly 30 minutes against the Knicks on Wednesday and posted 33.25 fantasy points.
