How to handle Patriots WR Julian Edelman vs. Titans in Wild Card round

You shouldn’t make much of the Patriots’ Julian Edelman being listed as questionable for Saturday’s Wild Card round matchup against the Titans.

In-game update: Edelman scored a touchdown on a 5-yard jet sweep run.

Update: Julian Edelman is ACTIVE for the Wild Card game.

The New England Patriots will host the Tennessee Titans in Saturday’s second Wild Card weekend game, and Julian Edelman’s status for the contest is up in the air once again. The wideout has been banged up and was listed as questionable with knee and shoulder issues in Weeks 16 and 17. That pattern hasn’t changed heading into the postseason.

Edelman was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week and only recorded three reception for 26 yards last week. But on Thursday he said on WEEI’s Greg Hill Show that he feels “good enough to go out and compete at a high level.”

Fantasy football analysis, New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman

There’s no reason to believe Edelman won’t play on Saturday. He appeared in all 16 of the Patriots’ regular season games and played from start to finish in his team’s loss to the Miami Dolphins in the regular season finale. He’ll likely play through whatever pain he’s dealing with, as his connection with Tom Brady is too valuable to miss during the playoffs. Edelman has accounted for nearly 25 percent of the Patriots’ targets this season.
