The Minnesota Vikings will have two capable receivers at their disposal in Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen as they visit the New Orleans Saints for a Wild Card round matchup. Both could potentially have big games, but injuries suggest playing one over the other.
Diggs put together a second consecutive 1,000-yard year after getting off to a slow start in 2019 while Thielen lost a chunk of his season to a hamstring injury. Although the two still managed to combine for 14 touchdowns, we’d think one has a leg up on the other.
Fantasy football analysis: Vikings WRs Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen
Diggs is averaging 74.2 receiving yards per game in his last six appearances and will enter the postseason well-rested after receiving a healthy scratch from Minnesota’s Week 17 contest against the Chicago Bears. Thielen on the other hand has only tallied 27 receiving yards since missing Weeks 10-14 with a hamstring injury. He hasn’t recorded more than 50 receiving yards and was also held out of the Vikings’ season finale. There’s no telling whether he’s shaken the rust off from his lengthy hiatus.
Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Diggs and sit Thielen. Diggs will maintain WR1 status while Thielen’s role is still up in the air.
