So as you can see, there isn’t too much movement at the top. The Clippers, Lakers and Bucks remain the top 3 teams with the best chance to win it all, though Milwaukee has closed that gap significantly since Opening Night — by +325. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have also made it even with Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers for the top odds to win this season’s Championship at +300. It’s essentially a coin flip between the three teams, and it could come down to who makes the biggest splash at the 2020 NBA Trade Deadline on February 6th.
As for the rest of the field, there’s actually still a lot of value if you can anticipate how teams will finish. The 76ers, Rockets, Jazz and Nuggets are the four teams with the next best odds to win and all of them are +900 or lower. Philadelphia has the talent in its starting lineup to contend for the East title, proving so in a win over the Bucks on Christmas. We saw the Rockets come pretty close to the Finals a few seasons ago before Chris Paul got hurt and now they have Russell Westbrook. Both the Nuggets and Jazz are deep teams who play defense, and each has plenty of high-profile players capable of stepping up.
This isn’t even including the Celtics and Raptors, two teams more than worthy of title consideration, both at +2000 or steeper odds to win it all. One move at the deadline and that could change the entire complexion of their seasons. Basically, this should be the most exciting title race in recent memory with so much parity in the NBA again.
