UPDATE: Darnold has returned from the locker room and is back in the game. Joe Flacco came back in on a third down play and proceeded to get sacked on his first play back.
The New York Jets got a touchdown from Sam Darnold to open the game, but now they might have to win without him. Darnold was sacked hard late in the first quarter and immediately walked off the field holding his arm gingerly. It appeared to be a shoulder injury and the trainers have taken him back to the locker room.
Joe Flacco has replaced Darnold as the starting quarterback. Darnold left having completed 6 of 8 passes for 51 yards and rushed three times for 57 yards and a touchdown. The Jets lead 7-3 after one quarter.
