How and what to watch for Arkansas at No. 13 Auburn

Auburn will look to regroup after being handled fairly easily by Georgia, as Arkansas hopes to continue its momentum after a big win.

The No. 13 Auburn Tigers are looking to get back in the win column on Saturday, Oct. 10 when they meet the Arkansas Razorbacks, which are riding high after a major upset victory.

Auburn is coming off a 27-6 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, which suffocated the Tigers’ offense to just 216 total yards of offense. Bo Nix continued his struggles against big-time SEC competition by completing 21 of 40 passes for 177 yards and an interception. Freshman running back Tank Bigsby had 99 yards of offense with 31 rushing yards on eight carries and seven receptions for 68 yards in the loss.

On the other side, Arkansas is fresh off a 21-14 road win over Mississippi State as three-score underdogs on Saturday. It was the Razorbacks’ first victory in the SEC since 2017. Feleipe Franks was efficient at quarterback, completing 20 of 28 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns. Barry Odom’s defense was the star of the game, limiting the Mississippi State passing game to 313 yards on 60 pass attempts.

Auburn has won the last four games of this series, all by at least 31 points. The Tigers won last year’s matchup 51-10 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The Best Bet

Arkansas was able to stop the Air Raid because it deployed the perfect defense that still has us wondering what LSU was doing in the opening game of the season. While Nix struggles against opponents at the top of the SEC, he performs fairly well against the conference’s mediocre teams, including Arkansas where here completed 70.6% of his passes with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in 2019. Auburn won the last four game of the series by a combined score of 193-36, an average of 39.25 points. Let’s look for the Tigers in a bounce back spot.

Pick: Auburn -14
