In a heavyweight bout on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Island 5, Chris Daukaus will meet Rodrigo Nascimento this Saturday live from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi and available on ESPN+.

Nascimento will enter as one of the more favored fighters on the card. He’s an undefeated 8-0 in his MMA career, and 1-0 in the UFC with a win over Don’Tale Mayers on May 16th after a Dana White’s Contender Series victory over Michael Martinek in July of 2019. Averaging 4.44 significant strikes per minute in two graded fights, Nascimento is also a talented grappler, averaging 2.9 takedowns per 15 minutes.

The Brazilian will be looking to take down Daukaus, who is 1-0 in the UFC as well. With a first-round knockout of Parker Porter to his name, Kaukaus averaged 8.28 significant strikes in that bout, landing 62 percent of his blows. Daukaus is 9-3 with eight career knockouts in MMA, and works as a police officer in Philadelphia when not a cagefighter.

This should be an all-out brawl with two up-and-coming heavyweights taking to the octagon.
