Youssef Zalal and Ilia Topuria meet in a featherweight bout at UFC Fight Island 5 on October 10th. Zalal is entering his fourth (!) fight in 2020 while Topuria will look to add to his impressive submission stats as he’s choked out seven of his eight victims.

Zalal, known as ‘The Moroccan Devil’, is 9-2 and seeking his fourth UFC victory in 2020. A well-rounded fighter, he will have to hold off a submission specialist with his good ground game. For Youseff, the key will be in technique and his always changing stances to keep Topuria on his feet. The Englewood, Colorado native enters with 3.20 strikes per minute while absorbing only 1.40.

Topuria is 8-0 in MMA and making his UFC debut, and will look to take this to the ground. With his lightning quick hands he can make that happen if he catches Zalal any bit off stance. His stand up game is also solid so don’t let the submission specialist tag fool you. All eight of his wins are via stoppage, with seven submissions and one knockout. It should be a great battle between two solid and well-rounded fighters.
