The Arizona Cardinals have a juicy matchup against the New York Jets this week, the kind of game where you can go all-in on their skill player when it comes to fantasy football. However, the recent struggles of incumbent starter Kenyan Drake may have opened a door for Chase Edmonds to take on a more featured role.
Fantasy Football analysis: Cardinals RBs Kenyan Drake, Chase Edmonds
Drake had a terrible game last week, rushing 13 times for just 35 yards. Worse, this was against a Carolina team that had been one of the league’s most generous to opposing running backs. Meanwhile, Edmonds posted 16 yards on four carries, and caught five passes for another 24 yards. Drake wasn’t even targeted once by his quarterback.
Though their overall production levels have been similar, Drake still has a big edge in touches. And he should be able to turn his edge in carries into quality stats against the Jets. Edmonds will probably get his work in the passing game too, but for fantasy purposes, we’re still kind of stuck with Drake this week.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Kenyan Drake. Sit Chase Edmonds.
