Todd Gurley was the lone bright spot last week in the Atlanta Falcons’ latest miserable effort. Against the Packers, the running back accounted for the Falcons’ only touchdowns, two of them. He could be in store for a bigger game this week against the Carolina Panthers.
Fantasy Football analysis: Falcons RB Todd Gurley
Gurley hasn’t had the opportunity to rack up carries and yardage on the ground with the Falcons playing from behind so often this season. His best outing was an 80-yard effort against the Bears two weeks ago. But he’s scored four touchdowns, three of them in his last two games.
He has a great draw this week. No team has allowed more rushing touchdowns to running backs than the Panthers (tied with the Raiders for seven.) Gurley’s overall performance, not to mention his team’s, is enough to validate serious reservations about him over the course of the season, but it’s too favorable of a matchup this week to leave him on the bench.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Todd Gurley.
